The finish on newer savage LE's + barrel length???

I have read that the new Savage 10FP's in the past year or so are not parked like the older ones but have a matte blued finish. Is this finish similar to the rem700 tactical rifles? Does anyone have a close up pic of the finish on a recently purchased rifle? Either way, is the finish reproducible if it gets scratched and needs to be touched up? I really like the "tactical" matte finish as opposed to the glossy blueing, and am still not sure if that reason alone is worth getting the 10FP over the 12FV.

Also... will getting the 12FV (26" barrel) over the 10FP (24" barrel) really give me that much of an advantage in speed and accuracy?

Thanks

I bought the 10FP in 20" 308 because it is my deer rifle as well as target. If you hump the thing through the bush a heavy barrel 24 or 26" gun weight a ton and tends to get caught on brush. That said if I only shot long range target I would opt for a 26". You get very roughly 25fps per inch barrel increase.

Well here's as close up a pic I have of mine. The pic was taken to show the scope base but gives you a pretty good idea of the finish on the rifle too. I bought it in 2004.

I thought the finish on mine was coated or parkerized but - it rusted a bit so I guess not. A little oil cleaned it right up. The finish is not smooth - kind of like a hammertone.
