That's because in many cases he is spending two or three times the time on an animal as the next guy. He's a complete perfectionist, honest to a fault and refuses to compromise on his reputation.

Being a confirmed 46 year old, middle aged, fat guy, flatlander with a bad knee, I've never learned much about sheep hunting.

How do you calculate "Full Curl"?

IN that last photo where would the horn have to extend to to be considered full and/or 3/4 curl?

Great looking ram BTW.

Same question as martinbns ... as an easterner, unfamiliar with sheep, is that a 3/4 ram or a little better ??? Just don't know how to assess a ram ! Thought a "full curl" was all the way round to surpass the base, sometimes interferring with the sheep's vision, causing them to broom the ends. Yes ?

... NOt being a wise-ass, just don't know !

Gorgeous mount ... the detail around the eyes tells all.
Terrific work and a fine looking animal !

Sorry guys,

I was trying to draw it out on the computer but was incapable. The ram is legally 4/5. Determining if they are 4/5 is done while the head is square and drawing an imaginary line from the front if the base to the tip of the horn. If that line passes in front of the eye he is legal.

The mount looks very nice Chuck. Is it an actual pedistal mount or a wall pedistal?

Congrats on a great trophy. Should post the story to go with the pics!

Noel

It's a wall pedestal.

One of these days I'll write the story down. It involves killing two rams late in the day at over 400 lasered yds, being forced to stop because of fog, staving off hypothermia while huddled under the only rock on the mountain bigger than a basketball while being rained and snowed on, and an eleven hour horse sprint to the hospital. Not much to tell.:D

Looks good! I can't seem to find any mountain sheep around here, or any mountains for that matter...:D

Thank you ! ... great explanation on what constitutes "percentage of curl" !

Much appreciated ! Again, great trophy & very nice mount

Seen sheep in the wild on several occassions in AB ( but strangely, not in a Park) and have even enjoyed a couple of feeds of BBQ'd ribs.

One day...if the Red Gods permit ......
