I designed it for the user to be able to view the iron sights without obstruction and also to be just like the fixed to the receiver mount except no gunsmithing required. All that you do is place the Fab pistol grip mount in between the to forks and attach the pistol grip normally. the optic will be mounted directly over the rear cover guard so your optics will not get hit by spent brass. Also I wanted to be able to field strip the firearm without removing the mount, so zeroing isn't an issue. If you look at the picture that shows the bottom of the mount you will also notice a notch taken out on one side. This is for the safety to be on and off without any interference.
On a side note KungFooBob I find it a perfect check weld but I also have a rather large head. LoL. As for Deckard I don't think anyone has thought of selling these drum mags. But I am sure when the "PIMP" returns from his winter vacation he will be looking into marketing these items.

DMcFaul & sillymike I never made this with the thought of selling it. So I am sorry about that. This one in the picture is for Steiner. As for the lower profile that is a realy good idea and I did think about it alot but I wanted to be able to still use the iron sight's. Actually my iron sights are night sights that I just made also so I still wanted to be able to hit the "deer" in those low light enviroments. I gesus if there was enough interest I could talk to my uncle about it and see if we could make a batch just for members canadain gun nutz. I will ask him and see what he says.

satain: very unique ... what is it made of, steel ?

BTW: your pistol grip mount is in the optic sticky ... thanks for the pics
