I’ve got buddies that are looking for FX - 9 but I guess that’s not happening now. One option still left would be to buy a shorty ( restricted ) and then retro-fit it with a Canadian made IBI 18.6” barrel and have it re-classified as non-restricted ( or not ) . Would probably be cheaper to pay the 2k that gougers will be looking for .

I was at the range with my FX-9 today and after 150 rounds or so I noticed the bolt catch be sluggish when I do reloads (like I either have to give it a good whack or reset the LRBHO). Anyone else have this problem? Not sure if it was my magazines (PMAG's and KCI's) since they work fine.

How long or how many rounds since you last cleaned it? I hadn't done a full detail clean of the lower on mine for quite some time and eventually my bolt catch was getting gummed up with carbon and unburnt powder. After taking the ejector and bolt catch assembly out and giving it a good clean it's back to running flawlessly. The other thing I've seen is occasionally the LRBHO can get deformed (idk how) and won't act on the LRBHO properly, so after stripping down the same area as I suggested and giving it a good clean also inspect the LRBHO spring for any deformities.

I’ve last cleaned it at 200 rounds (600 rounds total now), that might be the case and I’ll check that out! Does that area usually have a little play on it?

It can have a bit of play if the hex screw that retains the ejector and LRBHO assembly loosens up. Over time I've had to retighten it a couple times and you'll likely want to keep an eye on it when you clean the gun.

This was actually the issue! I realized that after giving it a good clean last night, just tested my mags and they work flawlessly. Turns out it was quite loose which I’m not sure how it does in the first place. Thanks for your advice!!
 
Just ordered a couple of firing pin retraining pins for mine, slight wear after a few thousand rounds. I’ve had mine for over 2 years now and no issues except that I had to stake the roll pin for the buffer. No issues since, very reliable
 
Interesting...thanks for the heads up on the FX9 - I won't wait with bated breath and keep checking the vendors then if nothing is expected to come in.

For NR, the items I am looking out for are the FX9 and IWI X95. Seems like these are being gobbled up left right and center.
 
Hey fellas, new FX9 (8in pistol) owner.

I'm slightly disappointed that it comes with a non-standard buffer tube.

Does anyone know if any buffer tube (milspec or commercial) can be purchased to replace it, or must I acquire something oddly specific?

Should take any standard buffer tube either mil-spec or commercial.
 
Am I correct in assuming I can keep the same buffer/spring that currently resides in the original KAK buffer tube?
 
My very recently acquired FX9 (4inch). I hope to shoot it for the first time on Friday.

Update: I took it to the range on Friday morning. It ran great with no failures after 3 different types of brass cased ammo (roughly 150 rounds). It did not like the aluminium case Blazer ammo (failures to eject and extract). No surprise as the instructions say to avoid alum ammo, but I was hoping for the best as I have recently purchased alot of alum case ammo. Luckily all my other 9mms don't seem to have any ammo preferences.
