The Gospel Explained

Again, an excuse for the powerful to control more land. Religion was not the reason. And those hundreds of thousands (if it was actually that high) pale in comparison to the millions upon millions killed by non-religious governments.

An excuse, facade or whatever you want to call it. If there were No Religion there would have been no Crusades.

Absolutely, Maoism, and communism have killed far more than the nuts saying it was in the name of God.

That is like saying if franz ferdinand had never been shot there would have been no WW1. There will always be wars and battles fought for different excuses but the reasons are always the same. The powerful want to become more powerful.

Do you actually believe what you are saying?

It boggles my mind when people make the claim there would be less wars and fighting with no religion. They would just use a different excuse.

if there were no guns, there would have been no columbine, either...

blame where blame is due; squarely on the shoulders of the individual, nowhere else. Evil men will always find a pretense for their evil

Killed in the name of catholicism. Killed in the name of men. Mistaken thought. Let me ask you, just because someone screams "I love Jesus" before he kills 20 people, should then Christianity be judged? No, the people who go lunatic should be blamed.

Mistaken thought, BS. Do you or do you not follow what is written in the Bible? If so, here is a little quote for you.

Regarding the Crusades...

Quotes from your Bible: (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)

"Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the Priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death."

When you have orders like this in the Bible, how do you not go out and commit these atrocities? Your Priest, Bishop or Pope commands it,
then it is a direct order from God, disobey and be put to death.

I don't know about how you guys view us christians these days, but for me, I equate christ believerrs with a great work ethic, with a strong moral compass. I've never been screwed in business transactions with any. (the christian community, is actually quite quite small, somebody screws up, news travels super fast. especially bad news.)
I'm not saying that non-believers don't have these work ethics and moral compasses, however I'd be more inclined to trust those within the same religious organization based on our shared faith and value system

This thread is getting very very close to IBTL for religious bashing...please keep it clean. and FF, good on you. There would never be this type of bashing if you had say a GALT flag on your site.

Wow, Canadians willing to turn away from a business because they choose to promote their belief on a website they've constructed and pay for? I'll take names here, as now there are a few members I will avoid in the exchange forums. Freedom people, freedom of choice, including religious belief, this is what our great grandfathers, fathers and brothers have fought and died for. Some people really make me sick. Fishhead, if you see any items I have for sale in the exchange that you may be interested in at ANY time, do not inquire.

On another note, in case you are new to the game or simply naive, the majority of firearms advocates and American "Gun Nutz" are very religious.

I have my own belief system, it is not based on any one religion, and is based more on scientific theory and fact, including the fact that the universe is way beyond anything our feeble minds can comprehend. That said, I RESPECT every individuals rights to practice any belief they choose to, providing it is does not adversely impact myself or my family, I will not oppose.

You have me convinced. After reading this thread, I have no doubt that religion truly puts the "nutz" in "gunnutz".

#1 BCSHOOTER;
"Hey if it wasn't for religion there would be a lot less firearms & wars in the world "

We seldom agree, but speaking as one who has "visited"any war zones over the years, all I can say is your SO RIGHT.

For those who do not agree I would greatly apprecaite your explanations on the recent wars in the Balkans....

Does it say "you must read the gospel" if not then who the hell cares, some people will use any excuse to #### stir.

Bought from FF and will do again, gospel or not.

Well said, not sure why a free gift causes such a stir. Take it or leave it, pretty simple.

John Moses Browning being a Mormon ?

You'll be surprised at how many people are Mormons. Another notable Mormon in my mind: Ed Roth, the creator of the iconic hotrodding character, Rat Fink.

It must drive the mainstream churches nuts to realize that there are more Mormons out there than first thought, since they seem to despise them.

Oh, and BTW, I'm one too...
