The GSG 16 modification thread

I got my light forearm in. Waiting on my GSG conversion kit to come. Light forearm would take too much fitting to work with a non GSG 5/552 conversion kit GSG 16.

Got my buttstock, rear drum sight, and front grip, push pin, today from Tiger111HK (took 3 weeks from China for 67.00 Canadian).

Feels completely different and so much better then with the folding stock. :)

Installed an old OD sling, red dot I had in my parts bin, need to mod the rear drum sight next.

Just waiting on my Dlask barrel. :)

Here is what it became after adding the GSG kit I got from IRG.

Will do, I will be having my machinist buddy looking at it.

Have a problem though.

Don't know what happened, if my son forced the mag release lever or what, but it is binding and will not hold the mag in unless I manually move the lever to secure the mag. I seem to remember it was spring loaded?

Thanks

How‘s the tri guard? fits snug? did you install it with the original GSG16 quad rail on or not? is the tri guard SRC SR5 AEG ? Thank you

The parts I ordered are:

# # #WELL-S552-8 #x#1
# # #CYMA-C76-MP5A4 #x#1
# # #CYMA-CM041J-49 #x#1

The CYMA are the butt stock and front grip. With the old guard was removed, the new guard front supplied push pin lines up to the new GSG 5 cocking tube. I trimmed a small amount of the inside grip moulding then used a bit of glue stick to match the receiver contour to be super snug but I was just being OCD.

The front and rear stock upgrade completely changes the feel, and the metal cocking tube makes it less chessy.

Here’s mine so far (looks a lot like everyone else’s lol);

Sorry for the blurry pics. It’s free image hosting, so you know it kind of sucks.

I’m waiting on a few things to be shipped - Dlask 9” Barrel, quick detach receiver/hand-guard pins, rear diopter sight, magazine couplers, 3-lug adaptor that I’m going to try to hack up to fit (wish me luck on that one).

It’s a work in progress!

Got my conversion kit in today. Unfortunately the lighted forearm doesn't fit with the OEM barrel shroud. Light is too fat, and hits the shroud. Will fit once I get the short barrel.

fantastic to know! i was gonna order the airsoft one but ill hold off now.

Im keeping the barrel as is. The kids want to shoot it so ill keep adjustable stock for now.

do you know of any forearms with lights that would fit the shroud?

Speaking of the barrel shroud and the Conversion Kit, did everyone else have to "thread" the shroud onto the cocking tube? Mine took quite a lot of torque and a "one-rotation-in/half-a-one-back" technique. Like tapping a hole...

Some day I'm going to need to take that off again, and I imagine it'll mean unscrewing it off the "new threads" I made by installing it... One more reason for the "Patented Dlask Stubbytube".

If you can get one with a flash light head of say 30mm, It should work with the factory shroud.

Something like this? It just looks like a standard CR123 battery flash light.

Yeah I threaded mine on. It's more solid than the factory. Yes cannot wait for the stubby tube.
