The GSG 16 modification thread

Just use the eotech. I removed the rear sight as i didnt see it adding anything, and thought it might actually obstruct the view through the optic. (credit for the build belongs to Glockguy-187)
for fun, here she is next to the cz:

Enjoy brotha. Glad i could help.

Well Hero came through on my fixed stock but let me down with the handguard. Said it was in stock and it was not.

Now looking for a basic MP5 handguard but preferably the one with the cree flashlight as above.

Might as well show mine off, I just got it back from Dlask.

Very happy customer here!

Cheers
Jay

Can’t wait / am hopeful to see a few range reports & what ammo these dlask barrels seem to like. I’ll hopefully be able to report back before too long

Nice! That's one of the handguards I'm looking for :>)

You going to put a drum rear sight on it?

Thanks!

Yes, I have an HK rear diopter sight that's been backordered since Jan 1st. Hopefully it will be here soon. Then, I am going to sand down the pic rail on the receiver and install that sight. That will probably be it for me!

About to install the Dlask barrel. I remember how hard it was to remove the T10 Torx screws to remove the rails. I have pretty much stripped out the cheap T10 Torx bit from the awesome $4 bit set I picked up from Princess Auto. I want to do this big job with a better T10.

What do you guys recommend for make and model of T10? I will pick it up on tomorrow's TP foraging run. I don't care about cost. I just want quality to last and get a good bite on those shallow screw heads.

Thanks folks.

I didn't strip anything with my Wheelers screwdriver set.

Thanks. I just got the job done. No issues whatsoever and it only took about 45 minutes. I used a new Mastercraft T10 screwdriver $7.

Cheers

I had Dlask install my shorty and got my rifle back on Friday, and promptly took it out to play on Saturday. I threw a Surefire procomp on since it was the only muzzle device I had in the parts bin.

My first few rounds immediately ended up with an FTE, which did not give me hope. I was running CCI minimags in the factory magazines down loaded a bit to ease tension on the back of the mags where it bulges a little bit. After that one malfunction I didn't have enough for the rest of the day. I was mainly just function testing and making sure that my zero on my amazon red dot didn't change too much, so most of the shooting was just rapid fire plinking. I am happy to report 100% reliability for the rest of the outing. It is very fun with the short barrel, and the combination of the short barrel and brake makes this by far the loudest .22 i've ever shot.

Once I got home I decided to start installing my conversion kit. I ended up only using a few parts since I'm a lefty and that new charging handle housing isn't ambidextrous like the factory one. Really all I ended up being able to use was the new lower receiver with the nicer safety. I would have loved the front sight conversion but having to run the gun backwards doesn't appeal to me, so for now I guess i'll just have a half converted gun lol.

you can easily sell the balance of the conversion kit, people want the front sight more than anything out of that kit.
