It will work. And if the rail is removed properly, it will sandwich in between the 2 plastic halves of the reciever. There is little touch up work to do. I used the one provided in the kit.

excellent work, i'd to compare your work to the mp5 grip and had a hard time distinguishing the two.

Looking good.
Got a link for the rear sight? How does it line up now with the kit front? I wound up shaving 4mm off the bottom of my OEM rear sight and drilling a new hole in it 4mm higher for the time being.
PM me your address, mate, and I'll mail you one gratis.![]()
the gsg-16 looks ugly in comparison to the previous two models.
So on that receiver thing, I noticed that GSG slightly altered the front of the magwell from the GSG-5, to GSG-522 to GSG-16
The original one had a nice finger groove and (tiny)flared magwell, the most recent revisions dont. They simply added another wall, and the original curved one is still there:
duh, its obvious to you and me but not everybody, you should go check some youtube in the US, they actually like the looks and have no idea why us canadian doing what we are doing.
some of us dont think its ugly but modding cos they want what they cant have which is a MP5, its only natural. we change a VZ58 to look like AK47 but we dont think VZ58 looks ugly.
So can you just pop the outside of the new style off and the original is under it, or do you need to do some carving? I have not separated the halves of my rifle yet.
jah, i thought i had taken a picture of the insides of the receiver halves.. but i didnt. That would have made it very obvious.
You can kind of see it in my comparison shot where i mated the original half to the modded one. You can follow the line from the inside and cut out the excess, and then finish off the rough edges with a dremel/sandpaper.
Anyone has a source for the Midwest industries mlok rail ?
