It doesnt feel like a cheap plastic imo, we just swap the lower because it looks more like a proper MP5. I too was off put by all the plastic...2 mags later I could care less and was having the most fun ever.

I'm thinking it may have to be a 12" barrel to clear the gas block. Total guesstamation, but around there. I'd be interested in a 12"ish barrel for my 15 if they ever came out. I wish there was that and much more stuff for them. For example, I don't really like my stock on it. It screams "Made by Fisher Price". Lol! I would like to find a way of putting an AR stock adapter on it and running a CTR stock or something/anything different.
A friend printed me five 3D printed GSG-16 rear sight mounts/adapters which enable you to mount an HK style diopter.
Looks like this when the HK style diopter rear sight is mounted on the mount/adapter. Anyone know who has the rear sight in stock?

Uh, can you use this in a sentence that has a gsg in it?
Why should I? It is a GSG thread and I have in the past posted my modified GSG and I continue to participate in modding. So I don't think I really needed to put in the word GSG for people to figure out. And anyone modding these guns, came across claw mounts and should know what I mean.
Jay more wants the cosmetic appearance of the HK sight, without modding his receiver.

Thanks for the link to tiger111hk guys. I went with w w w.fire-support.co.uk & the rear sight was £15.83 Considering the build cost on the MP5'ish GSG16 it's not a big deal. Actually FINDING a rear sight has been the challenge, so I'm glad to have one enroute.
And OkayShooter is spot on, I have no intention of using the irons, so this is simply cosmetic.

I'll have my rear barrel sight up on tinkercad once it's complete. The drum should fit on this base, which would fit on the unmodified receiver as well. If you have a 3d printer, you'd be able to print this base and install the drum on it.
The sight i have pictured is actually a spare one that I'm using for the meaurments of the barrel to fit on my rear sight base.

I just ordered my GSG16 from bullseye in the green...
Are the receivers able to be filed down instead of going for the 522 lower receiver? As in the finger groves on the grip and the lines all over the receiver?
Mostly concerned about the finger groves, are they smooth on the inside of the grip? Or are they protruding outwards, so you'd have holes after filing?
Other than the front HK sight the 522 kit is kinda meh for me, unless it had original SAF/pictograms.
Lastly, barrel swap.
Is it something I can do myself? Or is it recommended to have DLASK do it? Havent found 1 video on how to do it, or any description of it.
