The GSG 16 modification thread

I have a 522 metal tube the is no second front plastic screw. So I'm guessing the HLT wont fit a 522 conversion metal tube

Looking at the photos of that handguard.. It would mount like as per a regular MP5. Just the front cross pin.. On my Airsoft MP5 forearm. I folded some foam and put it on the bottom preventing me from pushing the handguard up more. Since it got some flex to it, and can pop over the lip of the cocking tube.

Those wavy nubs on the inside of the forearm, are suppose to sit on a lip on the cocking tube. Preventing it from going up more.

No unfortunately the cross pin is a good half inch off on tube from reciever. The hand guard is ment for the orginal plastic charger tube. That was a waste of $50 lmfao. I'll have to attach with just one screw and wait for real airsoft hand guards and fixed stock. To be honest these HLT pieces are 3d printed garbage. Fit and finish are horrible but I guess it will do as filler for now. Deff not happy with the products but I kinda knew that going in. At least I can use the push pin for the rear stock now until I find another.

My loss is your gain peeps. The HLT furniture won't fit a 522 conversion tube

The HLT furniture I got was good enough for my use. The quality can be better but I’m satisfied with my buttstock and handguard.
Sucks it doesn’t work with the mp5 conversion.

Like the whole right side is good on mine but the left is missing filler and jagged as crap from the 3d printer. I had to do alot of clean up to get it to look okay as well as repainting them. Also chunks were coming off when using a push pin ect. They are soild enough especially on a 22 but if you care at all about the finish of furniture on your guns it's a hard pass. Too each their own, i'm kinda ocd about my guns so I'm sure it bugs me more then most. Cheers

I'm in the same boat as you. Pissed that my handguard from hld won't fit now that I installed the conversion kit. Also bought a top rail delete which I swapped out for one from DTB, way better quality imho. Which airsoft handguard did you end up going with?

I havent yet, everyone is sold out everywhere. I'd hope to get a Cyma set as from what I've read they seem to fit the best with little fitting. Just waiting on the rail delete from DTB, unfortunately hes not making them right now while he upgrades his set up he said.

From a video on YouTube, no the G&P won't fit if you still have the factory barrel with the fake suppressor. Flashlight is too big. The cheaper one with the incandescent light will fit because of the smaller diameter.

Bought a few of my MP5 accessories on Aliexpress, if you look around some vendors already have the stuff in Canada, I have received a few order from them in less than 2 weeks.

Does anyone know if the G&P MP5 Handguard with torch fits with the conversion kit?

Yes I have one on mine. But liked said, you need to get the one with the narrower not flared light, if you plan on using the OEM fake can.

I had to remove the flashlight and put in a plug, till I got the 9" barrel for it.

Anyone who filed the existent sight base to fit a HK drum, any pointers ?

Is the existent thread fit the included HK screw ? Or will that have to be rethreaded ?

Not sure if I'm going to wait for DTB rail or use my rigged one from the conversion kit and file to fit.

Cheers

Also to anyone that's removed the raised rail side to give the reciever a proper mp5 rounded look what was your methods ? And what are you screwing the claw rail into to cover the exposed internals ?

Don't.. Because once you do, you cannot go back. I messed up a receiver shaving it. Would taken me soo much work to fix it. I just run the DTB rail delete with rear sight mount. Get the ICS rear sight because you can modify it easier to be lower.

You would have to use the existing screw from the GSG kit, since its a coarse screw ( like a wood screw ) where the sights normally come with a fine thread.

So I bought this HK sight used off a guy here and took it apart to paint it. Lol as I did the spring and I'm guessing detent flew to the gun gods in a self sacrifice. It doesn't screw it just has slots.

Looking for ideas for a replacement detent, spring is easy enough.

I'm pretty sure its airsoft, does anyone know the maker or own this type ?
