So I just went for it and the mag mod worked out great. Tedious couple of hours with a dremel and a file but worth it. You have to shave like a 1/4" all the way around and you lose the thumb feed pull. I have my gsg mp40 9mm mag loader that will work, it's more of a show mag anyways.

Yes, I used the ICS SEF lower trigger assembly last fall after watching an old mod video on Youtube for a GSG522. I'll try and post up some photos of the mag housing cover that I did. Makes it less fun to load but looks awesome at the range lol.

The mag I used was a G&G 30rounder

Hey guys, could someone point me in the right direction as to where I can buy the stock, handguard and barrel shroud on the gsg 16 at the bottom of the picture?

The fixed stock you can purchase at evike.

Just go on their website and search for "Matrix A4 Type Full Battery Stock for MP5"

It fits GSG16 great as you can see in the pics I posted above.

Not sure about that handguard and the thicker fake can.
 
Does anyone have a extra DTB top rail that fits the drum sight ? He's not printing the plastic ones anymore as he's working on a metal version I think. Its all I need to finish my build as I'd rather not file down the receiver to fit the sight.

That does look nice, but I dont have the courage to start shaving off the parts on the outside. Maybe if I had the extra GSG-16 upper I would mess around with it.
 
Just ordered another airsoft upper receiver! The model I ordered is a SCR stamped sheet metal airsoft housing that is looking really authentic.
I'm going to try and see if the upper charging tube/top of receiver can be mounted over the plastic GSG16 housing with the GSG16 picatinny rail sanded off. I will have to cut up this new airsoft receiver to make it work but it would give me a more authentic looking GSG. No swapping the GSG upper receiver, think of it as reskinning the upper charging tube area of the receiver.

Hmm weld marks appear to be actual welds!!

Probably wont work, but interested in checking it out. I'll post up some pics when it arrives!!
 
So what optics are people using to clear the diopter irons?

I was concerned that a micro red dot might sit too low?

Just waiting on a 4 position lower and choosing a sight and it'll be close to done me thinks :)

I stopped using a red dot as I like stretching out to 75 - 100 yards.

Bought this scope off Amazon for 67.00, love the size, came with rings, and the red illuminated crosshairs are cool.
