The gun room?

Once upon a time, before I was a FIP (Formerly Important Person), I had an official residence which had 6676 square feet, a full basement, and a detached brick two storey double garage. Then the Army decided to punt my pink little butt out into mandatory retirement and I bought a house. A bungalow. 1200 square feet I think the real estate ad said.

I really should post pics, if I knew how, of the chaos in which I putter. Nope, I do not have a gun room in this dinky little house. In fact, I do not even have a laundry tub anywhere in the house where I can clean the mud off my boots, nor is there a non-carpeted floor anywhere over which I can hang wet waders and hunting clothes. This time of year (January through December) I put my gear wherever I can find a spot, generally on top of something else. The Rock Chucker goes onto and off of an old wooden desk, with a big C Clamp.

And my guns? Well, my friends, THEY are in the master bedroom, that was the only room in the house that had enough space for the gun cabinets......

And don't even get me started about this jerked-off little teeny weeny garage...........

I want to move to a bigger place, but it would be hard to swing it with 50% of my assets and paying alimony and child support...........on a pension......

And can I please have some cheese to go with my whine?

I can post pics for you Doug.
I thought there would be some sort of grand gunplex dedicated to Doug's massive arsenal, perhaps a converted armoury or something. With the # of guns listed in your last general email, I am sure there is more than 1200 square feet of steel and wood.
The bedroom full of guns must get comments from "visitors".
I hear you on giving up half of everything plus the legal costs of starting again. Glad I did it at 30 and not retirement age.
You have more guns than some small nations, maybe you should just raise a flag and annex the neighbor's garage.

Thanks Rob. I have sent you some pics of my hovel..........

But no "visitors" ever see my bedroom.............

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

John,
That is great. What is the really thick octagonal barreled gun that appears unfinished in the shots? I see we share a fondness for Ross rifles too. Are those two original Sharps there? I have the very same stand as you have your 1919 on. That is some phenominal stuff for sure, you have me well outnumbered and outclassed.
Here are some pics of Santa Doug's gun room.

For similar reasons of child support and alimony I also live in a small house, but permit me to show you an alternative to the 'C-clamp, and old desk' as a reloading platform. This is in my laundry room, and I can fit my dillion 650, as well as my precision reloading equipment on these two tables that flip out from the wall.....where there is a need to reload, there is always a way....

My gun room is a 10x 20 sop with all my reloading, gun, hunting gear in it.

I've onl¥ owned the own house that I built mself, but when I rented for a couple of ears, I used the closet, and wehn i lived in my van, I had guns in the under the seat compartment.
