The H&K P7 PSP: Thoughts and observations (April 25: Quick range report added)

These are very cool indeed. "I'm going to count to three, there will not be a four"

The VP70 is a rare bird. I've never seen one with the stock in person. That would be a real keeper!

The snow finally melted enough to get a chance to go to the range today for the first time since before Christmas. I had a few new scopes and guns to try out so I only had a short time with the PSP but I was very impressed...more than I was expecting to be. When dry firing the pistol it feels a maybe little odd; the trigger pull is maybe not the crispest, and of course the cocking grip is different too. But at the range—wow! The pistol shoots very smoothly with almost no muzzle flip at all, and the trigger allows for very, very fast follow-up shots. Have a look at the video below—these were the second group of eight shots I fired through the pistol and already double-taps are almost effortless! (sorry...I didn't "hit my mark" correctly for filming).

Edit: here's another video from when I had the P7 out:

H&K's are awesome, with this one being probably the best of the bunch. Looks like I will never get one as these are uber expensive, but it's nice to see some are enjoying them.
