Time for one up the spout and safety off. This one was a bovine, but not uncommon fate for a hunter wounded elk, around here. Somebody shot a 5 point in a 6 point zone by mistake is another possibility.

Yup seen that a fue times. Depending on the thickness of the bush around you as to how big your adrenaline rush is.
 
So, do you think a person did that? or do you think a bear buried it planning to come back later?

I would be surprised if a person would go to that much trouble. Better (easier) to just walk away and deny everything, especially when you leave it half uncovered

Maybe a person wounded it but it was partially eaten and buried by a grizzly.
