You do know the Son Tay raid preceeded the SAS adopting the MP-5 by about 20 years right?

Lol not quite that much....Son Tay raid was November 1970, SAS were using the MP5 when they assaulted the Iranian embassy in May 1980, I can probably find a more accurate date when they started using the MP5 but it was after working with the GSG9 sometime in the late '70's ('77 I think)
Definitely not 20 years!
 
That awful thing on top is a very early laser! They were gross looking but worked for incredible distances. The other thing is a MWG drum. actually it is not a drum but a curved or bent stick mag. They hold 90 rounds but you did well if you got 87 rounds in and it was very reliable. They sold for between $60-99 before the ban.
 
It most definately does not look like a drum that would hold 9mm. The "thingy" on the top is "old school" laser sight.
