When I was a teenager, the family went on a trip to see the relatives in Torbay NF, while there we had chance to muck around with a Cooey 75 that belonged to my uncle, someone (who shall remain nameless), managed to shoot a certain sea bird at a range approaching or over 100 yards with the cheapo Russian .22lr that abounded in those days for a trifling cost(but man it was dirty), we had lots of fun with that rifle, So I managed to buy 2 of them and made one good one out of the parts of 2, so far I think it's only capable of a bout 4 moa in my hands, how about you, have you managed to squeeze any more accuracy than that out of them? - anyone out there tried one out with a quality scope?
 
While grouse hunting there was a beer can that some dumbass left in the bush it was approximately 100 yards away from my wife and I. I hit it twice. I'm not sure if it was luck or not. I love those guns. There's just something about them. Mine is very accurate for what I brought it back from (bubba took a liking to mine before I did). It's usually a 1.5-2" at 50 yards.
 
Cooey 75

Mine out shoots my 10-22 and many other at the range ,dam good shooting guns. What kind of mount were you think of ,i thought about it my self, but counldnt get the nerve to drill and tap it.
 
Well I had it out the other day, I had a bit of a time getting it sighted in at 100 yards, weird, I had to tap the front sight over to the right quite a ways to get the groups on for windage, anyways I used mainly CCI Velocitors and got some good groups at 100 yards considering I was using the factory irons, had the elevator up all the way, the rounds were evenly peppering the Birchwood - Casey Shoot n see, so what, about 5-6 inch groups at 100 yards not too bad I guess. . .
 
Well I just purchased a Cooey Model #600 from a fellow CGN member from Newfoundland and went to fire it today. My wife and I took turns with my ($500) Ruger 10/22 target with Legacy stock + stainless barrel and this little old tube fed Cooey. Well her shots with the Cooey hit that target with about 1 inch from center grouped and me with the Ruger (AND SCOPE) did worse! Still with in 2" of center but that little old Cooey shot nice and true! Now we traded rifles and she did better with the Ruger than me, but that CoOey was still pretty accurate with those old peep sites. I got on Model 82 Trainer on the way, I can't wait! :)

Ahaha funny story. I bought one at canadian tire a few weeks ago for $60 its rough shape and needs to be refinished but has tons of potential. So its basicly just sat in the safe since, last weekend i'm going to my moms new house and she likes to see some of these older firearms so I brought it up to show her. So sunday morning I take it out and i'm showing her when a squriel runs by outside, and she's been having a problem with them so I grab the rifle, run out, get some .22 short copper plated high volocity hollow points out of the truck. I chamber a round, take aim at this little furball at 45-50 yards running in front of a small hill and pull the trigger. Freaking head shot! Lady luck I think, probably one of those 1 in 100 shots! Was still proud though lol

I picked up a pile of rifles from an estate sale ,and in the bunch was an almost new cooey 75.Its in 100% shape. AS a boy I used my dads 75. It got lost at the farm years ago and now I have it back.NO ,,not for sale. Also IN THE BUNCH WAS A SEMI AUTO SPRING FIELD stevens arms 22 modle 87A. It has the 14 shot round tube under the barrel. It is absolutly flawless.Not a scatch or nick on it. I have never seen 22"S kept in this kind of condition.
