the ideal 28ga

I didnt mean any disrespect to anyone who prefers pumps or the guns themselves...they are just not for me. I just couldnt get used to any of the pumps I owned. But as I mentioned earlier, I do admire those who can proficiently shoot them. But as 3macs1 said, it has a lot to do with what you cut your teeth on. I'd probably enjoy shooting a bolt action Marlin goose gun then a pump shotgun as I've already developed the muscle memory from operating bolt action rifles

Probably ones idea of an ideal 28 gauge gun ,comes down to what they want to use it for.Hunters usually prefer a lighter gun for ease of carry on trips afield.Target shooters usually prefer a heavier gun.

Pumps are fun guns to use, especially in the field.I much prefer my 28 gauge Ithaca Model 37 over a 28 gauge Remington Wingmaster. Now for 3macs, it is the other way around.:)It would appear, one cannot pick an ideal 28 gauge gun for some one else, any better than they can pick an ideal wife or husband for another person.Just my thoughts on the subject.:)

Benelli legacy in 28 is my choice. It's nice and light for those long upland walks. It shoots where I point, and it doesn't talk back when I miss. Lol.

I have a pretty little Citori 28 with 26" tubes that handles pretty sweetly. I also had a Remington 1100 Sporting 28 that was a really nice little bird gun, beautiful wood on that one. In pump guns, I have owned both an 870 Wingmaster 28 and a BPS 28... loved the 870, hated the BPS.

Have 3 a Weatherby SA -08 In 28 great grouse gun ,model 12 in 28 (the browning version) and a model 48 Remington skeet which is officially 50 years young this year and hasn't been produced in 49 .They are a great gauge very underrated IMHO.

This is my ideal 28g....a Franchi 48AL

Pretty gun there... would be a speedy rig for sharpies on the flats.

Up until last weekend I thought it was my sons Beretta 686 Onyx Pro Sporting. Then I got to handle another shooter's Piotti Piuma in 28 GA and now I'm wondering what I can sell to get one !
