You listed MANY things that must be done in order to make the rifle useful and user friendly . Why not just get a real gun for example a old marlin . I had a 94 note HAD . It was an accurate enough banger

In the cold light of day, Marlin and Winchester come over the counter with equal sighting systems.

No need for extra weight for the 30-30 cartridge, neither did I feel the yearning for too much chunky wood or a scope.



I guess lots of people have to live with their own limitations.

I notice you did not have a single retort for my earlier reply.

Strangely I'd have to agree somewhat with the H & R handi-rifle folks as well. Although personally I think the H & R's are ugly as sin; I've an old Savage 219 in 30-30 that packs quite nice the the bush, the break open puts the balance nicely in one spot. If the H & R balances as well it'll pack nice,easy to change up calibers too. The TC looks like a good shooter, I'm just not sure if the grip angle is conducive to a naturally comfortable carry.
But the old 219...it just carries well. I've a good handful of different bolts but they don't balance out well for me.

I have a 7-30 Waters barrel as well maybe it is that I haven't had time to work up more loads for it that I would still go with the 6.8SPC.
 
At the risk of being the odd man out, I would use 760/7600s. I keep two of each caliber. The pretty ones I use very little. I have more pride in the rougher ones that actually do the real hunting. They have wear and scratches that I believe gives them character. They never let me down.

Ouch haha , she was raised by her father who was a logger after she had spent several years with her mother as a child who was abusive and cruel until the courts ruled in the fathers favour granting the children into his custody . He raised the 3 sisters into strong women who understand hard work and the foolishness in spending money foolishly , one in whom I am proud to say is the mother of my child.

The stocks are easy to turn down... the OEM does that due to the forces the rear cup receiver places on the buttstock, particularly if the owner misaligns it on installation.

Sounds like you have a good woman there Tyler. .. I still hope she doesn't look like a blr.... ;)

Seriously though... I am not a lever or semi fan.... but its hard to knock what a nice carry a 94 is.... I would rather put up with the extra wee bit of weight and keep my bolts.... I may be no dogleg but I have practiced and I can fan a bolt gun pretty good... and I work hard to make the first shot count anyways. ...
 
I have to admit I no longer own a handi... but my handi survivor in 223 with that fugoy plastic stock and heavy bull barrel was th3 most accurate gun I have ever owned... and I didn't reload at the time and used win white box..... that being said, it was crap to carry (totally factory)

I don't even know why I'm wasting my time but here goes

I am joyed to see when people live within their limitations and I'm not sure why you try to put that in a negative light unless your a fool who attempts every shot , no matter what the circumstances are .

Since you attempted to make it personal so will I .

Only a disrespectful Hunter posts pictures of his kill with the attempt to boast and brag

I kill and harvest to feed my family , I do not take pride in it , I do however take pride in the feeding and caring for my family. I butcher all my animals and what is considered waste for human consumption , I feed to my dogs.

As a machinist by trade , I enjoy metal that glides and have smooth fits that do not require grease to smooth out slide.

As for your wimpy finger comment , grab a bathroom scale, squeeze as hard as you can , and when you want to see 270lb squeeze come see me .

Ps your deer is small and I have a 94 32 special downstairs .

With all due respect, brutus is a very respected member of the community and hunts within the limits of the firearm he is using.. he takes pride in being old school and being humane as such.... you are adressing someone who has taken rabbit via blunderbuss and who takes pride in being humane while using old school techniques....

You kind of sound like me when I joined cgn..... I have learned a lot..... even how to reload when I didnt.... I was and am still a hunter before a shooter.... but the opinions of guys like brutus have expanded my horizons.. I encourage you to do the same

ya might be right ya might be wrong. I am just a simple homesteader raising my 100 chickens, breeding my 4 Labradors at my little home and fixing my ol first gen cummins. I wear my suspenders tight, my leather hat pulled down and my steel toed boots tied tight. got a good woman, a cute baby boy and a pretty good garden.

oddest 22 yr old you will meet but leave me the frig alone. (not to you superbrad, the goverement and other control freaks)

I suppose I never really got a chance to reply to the orginal question.

I think I might like a kimber but since we all cant be rich, the ruger mkii m77 seemed to be a good enough option. BUT if someone has a 264 sender kicking around and haven't much need for it, I got some trades that might land some interest

Right in front of you is a keyboard, and there is an awesome internet search tool called google. It will even auto correct your poor spelling skills. Use it.

Advice, stay right where you are, just across the street for the chip wagon. The pay is not better in Alberta.
