Exactly. Unless you want fore-end accessories like a laser or flashlight, would a Type 81 with an optic mount be a better choice then an M10x, given the Type 81 can eat any ammo type?

Had my T81 lmg w/side rail out at a service rifle match this weekend. Definitely had to apply a lot of elevation to get this thing zeroed. I was thinking I might bottom out the elevation adjustment but I didn't in the end. I'm not sure how much is left but there probably isn't much.

The match was interesting - definitely a challenge taking 7.62x39 out to 500m in windy conditions. With a rough 500m zero, I managed 16/20 scoring hits and 18 on the screen at 500 with some copper washed Russian surplus. Definitely a more capable rifle with glass on top.

Nothing spectacular, really. Targets at 500m are a fig12 on a 4ftsq screen and I managed 16/20 inside the 2 ring and 18 hits on the frame. Most hits were 3s and 4s.

Might have been able to improve things a bit with some better fodder and a better zero. Tested some Prvi blue box FMJ after the match and was getting around 3-3.5" @ 200m. Only shot one 5 shot group so who knows if that was a fluke.

If my Type 81sa's could produce 1.5moa like that ^ id fall down to my knees and kiss the dirt lol. I need to get me some Barnual. Everyone keeps talking about how well it shoots. Its the only common 7.62 round that i havent tried yet.
