The JR Carbine Thread

Sorry! I didn't actually go in with the intention to buy it...it was snapped up on a whim.
I had been ogling it for a few months too.

Now...they received a new shipment of guns in on Monday and they got some really nice stuff in the cases right now.
2x Nagant Snipers with scopes, a coach gun, more russian SKS.

Unfortunately now I'm looking for a lefty Rem 700 in .223 heavy barrel...they do have a nice Savage there though, but not a lefty.

They are pinned to 10 but like all Glock magazines the 10th round is very hard to get in. Pull it apart and carefully shave a little off the bottom of the follower so that the mag holds 10.5 rounds instead of almost 10!

No kidding I have given up trying to get the 10th round in my factory glock mag.

I have mine in 9mm. I have fired 115,124 & 147gr ammo without any issues. Mine is a first generation, the last 1/2 inch of the barrel was added on to make it NR. I have 2 CZ-75 pistols, also in 9mm so I reload alot, tried to modify a mag to work, not worth it. So far I have gone through 800 store bought rounds & over 4500 roll your own...I use bullseye powder, as low as 4.0gr and up to 5.0gr, only noticeable difference other then fps was the amount of fouling. Then I learnt about crimping the rounds, big difference, no more fouling. Doing 1.5 MOA at 25 meter, 5round groups. I also wear bi-focal glasses which make it a bi¥€h using long barrels.

What is a good single point sling to go with a JRC? What about sling mount? Off of the stock or a mount between the recoil tube and receiver?

Padded Vickers sling, Magpul endplate (between castle nut and receiver). The barrel is almost too long for single point though unless you tighten it up every time you let go. If you're thinking CQB, a 2 point will keep the muzzle out of the dirt better if you're just releasing it and going to the sidearm. With the adapters, the Vickers will go both ways equally well and the padding will keep your neck from getting rubbed raw.

Perfect rabbit gun, super configurable.

Has anyone had a problem with reloads jamming in a 9mm? If I put 4 in the magazine, it is fine, 5 or more and the bolt will sometimes close before the next round is fully engaged. Did not do it with factory loads when I first got it, just seems to be with reloads.

Mine handles my reloads just fine. I punched 100 holes on Thursday and not a single hiccup out of it. The reloads on that outing were 9mm Berry's 124 (or 125) grain round nose bullets with 4.3 gr of Win 231 under them. I also shoot the same with LRN with no issues.

Thanks, not sure what the problem is, I use Berry bullets as well, 115 grain. Can't recall the powder of hand, it is an odd name, 6.2 gr. It almost seems like the bolt is returning before the shell is fully engaged, it catches the shell and hits the brass. Ordered some factory loads and will see if it corrects. It was fine when I first tried it with factory loads. I am probably doing something wrong, maybe to much powder, they might like a lighter load.

Love mine in 9mm. Figured out a great hand load for it with 124gr using titegroup. Now just waiting for my pound of powder to come in. Current bottle running low.

I had an eotech red dot on it but replaced it with a 3x9 bushnell trophy and found the accuracy is amazing. Love these little guns. Just got to stop losing the glock mags. Is getting expensive. Took a little work but managed to get a magnpul two point sling to work and it feels nice when carrying it. This year I am going to bag mme some gophers with it.

My breacher muzzle break arrived today from JR...actually got here to Regina fairly quickly...10 days. It really looks good; very nicely finished...almost too nice. It's a high gloss black finish so it
doesn't quite fit the matte black barrel, but not a big deal. The machining is great; the points on the breacher tip are sharp enough to cut you if you're careless.

Finish match notwithstanding, if you're on the fence about them, go for it, it really finishes the barrel off perfectly

Anyone know where to get a JR I'm 45 that is the updated version that cycles and works? My local shop has an older version with no threaded barrel that I believe has problems, have a few cases of 45 and don't want to buy a lemon
