Nice Troy hand guard how to

Neat trick to take out play in your after market hand guard
Get a oil drain plug from a 98 VW passat 1.8L. factory ones have a nice crush, and it is the perfect size. place between the nut and the frame, then tighten as normal.

I have a Tru Glo 2x red dot on it now and it's sighted in and good an accurate. I've got around 500rds through it and no troubles. It's a 9mm.

They seem to be quite popular.

I have one in 9mm it goes bang all the time. The bolt handle came loose a few times. That is common. Some locktite fixed that. I put a Bushnell tactical 2xmp on it and a cheap bipod. It works fine hits the 100yrd gong all day. I have a Glock 17 takes the same mags. I would buy one again. The other carbines i have are Restricted Can't hunt with it South Wester ont. Too large a caliber but 270 you can. Go figure a 9mm is more dangerous than a 270

I stretch mine out to 200 yard gong at poco all the time using only a 512 eotech and a g33 magnifier. 200 yards with a 9mm is nothing to scoff at!

Family member has one in 45ACP with a cheap red dot on it. Thing is a ton of fun to shoot and pretty accurate. The only issues I have are that it is ammo picky** and cleaning it is not as easy as you'd hope.

Currently eyeballing one myself in 9mm.

**: At first it would not feed partially flat headed rounds. They would slam into the feed ramp and smash the bullet into the casing. Eventually I polished the ramp and it worked better but still not 100% reliable. This isn't really a big deal though as the only ammo I've tried that had this issue was Remington UMC which has a small slightly flat spot on top that the JRC just hates. Everything else, from Norc to Wolf, fires just fine and cycles well. (Given that the gun isn't too dirty)

I looked at them but hate how they break down to clean so spent the extra cash on the thureon defence.

Anyone know the FRT on this gun?
I'd like to have it on me, to prove it's nonrestricted, in case a LEO stops me and looks at it and feels that it's too scary looking to be legal.

Best I can do picture wise. In .40S&W, had some issues with a dead hammer after firing(granted, I only tried one ammo brand), JR sent me new trigger parts free of charge.
Never got out yet to try it out again. I assume it's an earlier version cause the barrel isn't threaded.
Carry handle is supposed to be a colt take off I got off ebay, cardinal forged. Probably BS but it seems well enough made.
Front sight is a troy h&k style iirc.
If it runs right this summer, next upgrade will be a new longer handguard and will probably ditch the magpul afg.

This looks really cool with the carry handle. What front end are you thinking of running?

Thinking a YHM Smooth forearm. Falls in my price range, and seems simple enough. I haven't sighted it in yet, I hope it'll sight in correctly.

There is another thread kicking around (edited to add: here it is http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/818500-jr-carbine-####) with JRC pics but for what it's worth, here is mine.
