The Lee Enfield Story

Search on Goofle for the ISBN number and the full title. Start searching with that number. There are any number of used book dealers who will have copies for sale. There is an earlier edition and a later edition. The first one has turned into a shadow and chances are not on you side to find one. There was another edition a few years ago. Good luck!

He is on the Advisory Panel over there, along with other people you might know.

While you are there, download your very own FREE pdf of THE LEE-ENFIELD RIFLE by Maj. E.G.B. Reynolds (1960). This book was the only comprehensive story of the Lee rifle, its design, development and manufacture, which was done while they still were being made and BEFORE all those tons of papers were destroyed. This book has been unavailable for the last 40 years, but it remains an excellent introduction to the series of rifles. It is still in Copyright, but may be downloaded for personal study use by members of that Site, by special arrangement with the Publishers.

"The Lee-Enfield Story" is long out of print, and can be quite expensive to buy ..... However, unless you have your heart set on it in particular, what you really want to buy is the currently available "re-write" .... "The Lee-Enfield" (much expanded, page-wise, by the way). Not hard to find at all, just go to Ian Skennerton's Arms & Militaria Press website and order it ..... it would come from his North American (U.S.) distributor at a price of US$79.50 plus shipping - http://www.skennerton.com/rifles.html

Thanks smellie!!

I've downloaded it. It'll be a nice long read when I'm in camp north of Fort Mac.

The third edition is the best one, though I also have the first and second. Not cheap, but it is the "bible" on Enfields.

As a matter of fact, ANY of Skennertons book are well worth the money!
