The locks are marked Samuel Nock, LondonEngland. The hammers are equipped with wafer or pellet chambers I think? My questionis does anyone know exactly how they functioned and was the spring on the sideof the hammer to release a wafer or pellet when cocked?

I believe that a new hammer nose carrying a fresh priming wafer would be installed when the gun was reloaded. The shooter would carry a little wallet with a supply of the interchangeable noses. I expect that a hammer nose would work just fine if a conventional nipple were installed, allowing the use of standard caps. No doubt this is what happened as the copper cap displaced other priming systems.
