The long awaited Cooper 280AI has arrived!

Been a bit of a wait - 8 or 9 months, but I wanted the exact configuration I picked; Jackson Game with a stainless steel barrel. No frills and other options. Just like the look of stainless steel on the lovely wood.

Well.... it's not quite here yet but just got an email from Clay that they just received it! So it should be on its way soon. Getting some Talley low rings on it and I have the scope; Swaro Z5 3.5-18 BT, 4W reticle.

Can't wait! Pictures will be up when its here.

While it is it is by far the most expensive setup I have, it has actually probably saved me a bit of money as I've been unable to justify purchasing any other firearms while this one has been on order!!

Next up, probably a Remington 700 35 Whelen CDL, sometime in the spring when I can save up some more cash and one shows up. I've always wanted a Remington 700 platform and a Whelen should make a great compliment to the 280AI.
 
I had a 13 month wait for my Cooper. A Excalibur in 35 whelen. ExCtly what I wanted and the first 35 whelen they ever made. Good pick on yours my wife has a 280ai in a Jackson game with a sweet price of walnut on it.
 
I too just got an email from Clay that my all stainless fluted action and barrel in .270 has finally arrived and will be shipped to me very soon....
It's been so long that I don't even remember when I first plunked down my deposit. I think it's got to be close to a year, if not more.

If you PM me your cell number, I'll text you the two pics. We had so much come in just before Christmas it was the best I could do but I have a pic of each side on my cell. I also sent you a bottle of Howards feed n' wax which will really protect and bring the wood out.

Not true, it just provides clarity....once I bought a Cooper I just happened to realize that I really am better than everyone else.

All joking aside, I do own one Cooper. It is a 52 Classic with very nice walnut. It is a fantastic rifle and it lives up to the 1/2" guarentee with 180 grain Nosler Partitions.
 
Just picked it up in the mail today. I don't think the photos do the wood justice but it is EXACTLY what I wanted; beautiful walnut with a stainless steel barrel; no frills other than being a Cooper ;-). LOVE the raised cheek piece.

Spent some time in the gun room admiring it, cleaning the barrel out, adding my trusty Slip 2000 to the bolt.

Tomorrow my buddy who has mentored me into shooting rifles is giving me a hand setting her up with a Swaro Z5 on some Talley rings.
