The love of the odd balls

7x64 Brenneke (Zastava M70)
7mm STW (Rem 700)
Bunch of 7x57's
8x68S (BRNO ZKK 602, and no I'm not the guy who wont sell it back)
358 Norma Mag (CZ 550 custom build)
9.3x62 (CZ 550 FS)
416 Rigby (CZ 550 Safari)
404 Jeffery (Win M70 Custom build)
450 Rigby (CZ 550 Safari Classic)
458 Lott (BRNO ZKK 602)
As Yul Brynner said
etc
etc
etc

8x68s in a BRNO ZKK 602 also ... but purchased factory new and not for sale so no one is getting it back:) .. dont really consider it an oddball ... just uncommon over here.

Other marginally 'uncommon' cartridges (ie not usually stocked by CTC!) would be:
222 Rem
257R
260 Rem
7/08 Rem
35 Whelen
350 RM
375 H&H

I don't consider those "oddballs," well maybe the 7X57R... but only because the rim is on there.

I don't feel that I have any true oddballs and I have; .257 Roberts, 7-30 Waters, 7X57, 7X64, .358 Win, .350 Rem Mag and 9.3X74R, in addition to the ones you can buy ammo for at CT.

Tizz a think thing, nawt a feel thang....................

Haven't seen 5.6x52r listed yet so I'll throw it out there

That, "IS" an oddball (all IMO of course).

What is "odd" in NA, may be common in Europe and vice versa... regionality comes into play in the subjective "oddball" designation.

In my own case most of the " oddball " chamberings I have used over the years were found in military surplus rifles. With Prvi/PPU and Norma, in particular, providing ammunition and components that are easily available these days for many of these previously hard to source numbers the list has shrunken somewhat, at least in my cabinet.
I do have a few commercial chamberings that may be considered oddball on our side of the pond such as the 8X54 Krag-Jorgensen, 8X60S Mauser and the 9X57 Mauser. Really interesting to see the others that have been mentioned by previous posters, variety is the spice of life!

I have a TC Pro Hunter in 8X63 Swede also a FN98 in the same. 280AI,257Bob, and plan to build a rifle in 35 Newton.
Yep I like the odd ducks.

Depends on what gun/supply store you happen to be standing in at the moment you need/want ammo. I bought a 6.5RM a while back. Happened to visit an outfitters I hadn't been to in years. Ask if any 6.5RM on hand. His eyes lit up and he said "have I got a deal for you". Needless to say, the next guy who wanted some didn't get it. Prohibitive prices also make me balk. 260 locally is dear as poison around here. Happened to see some on the shelf over the shoulder of the clerk at another little place on the way north one day. Acquired a rifle a short time later. Phoned him and he still had it-wasn't picked up by the guy that ordered it. Again, awesome deal! My 35Rem isn't easy to find on the menu normally. 350RM was scarce, but somewhat back in stock, again only at the more specialized shops. 300Sav is kinda tough.

some here
28/30 Stevens
40/90 Ballard
280 Ross
276 Enfield
25 25 Single shot
22/303,6.5 303 Imp, 35 303
375 nitro 2 1/2 are a few

I do have a number of oddballs but my main go to hunting rifles are still pre 64 model 70 30-06 and custom mauser in 7X57
Not sure why but it is what it is.
