Hey there lads!
Just looking at rifles for a mate and come across the Sako A7 stainless with a Zeiss scope for 2g, Old mate paid 2,7g for it last year and is unfired.

Wanting to get a bit of a Low down on the Sako A7 overall.. pros an cons Aswell as a comparision against a Sako 75/85 which would rrp around $1900-2000 bare.

Will do some searching on Google also but do take most of you guys realistic when giving advice regarding rifles.

Cheers
WL

Guns must be expensive in Australia, I bought an A7 in 30-06 for $950.00 new from a gun store including a Burris 3x9, The Zeis would up the cost but It doesn't sound like a good deal to me.

They are Expensive, So the pricing is hard to weigh up for You guys with weather its a Good deal or Not, although I would like to hear how Your A7 performs, what you like about it and weather you would prefer a 75....

Thanks mate

The A7 is a quality rifle as with all Sako products. The only problem I have seen being in the Sales industry is the mag, if you do not load your bullets into the mag in a certain way you could end up spreading the feed lips which will cause a number of them to pop out of the mag if you load it to the Max.
Cheers
Buy One you cant go wrong.

I love my A7 in 7mm-08. I bought it new on sale at WSS for just under a thou, couple of yrs ago.
There was a good side by side article comparing the A7,T3 and the 75 or 85. It may still be on here somewhere.

Thanks, I think I searched upon that last night, showed several side x side comparasion photos of the actions etc.

Regarding the Feed lips, Is that with the older plastic ones or the Newer metal reinforced feed lips? apparently was changed ?

Cheers looks like a possibly rifle, bit more than a T3 but not as much as a 75/85

Thoroughly enjoy my A7 in 270wsm.

When it comes to the mags, I load them with a sliding motion like pistol mags. Rather then forcing rounds straight down between the steel lips like I would load AR mags. Not sure if forcing them down between the steel lips would actually bend them but it seems plausible.

Guaranteed to shoot 1moa, light handling, quality firearm.

Yep makes very good sense to go with that practise.

Will see how he likes the feel of the rifle an proberly tell him to go forth

I would go with a tikka t3 since the parts that matter are just about identical. I guess it depends on the price difference though. I remember looking at rifle prices last time I was in Aus and wow.
