i've been reading that 1894 marlins eventually develop a jamming problem due to the sharp edge of the lever wearing into the loading mechanism, and that this is rather easily remedied by polishing off the sharp edge. apparently this takes thousands of cycles until it becomes problematic. seems strange that a gun in production for 40 years would retain such a defect, especially if fixing it would be so easy/inexpensive to marlin.
anyone here experience the "jam" or do you think this is another internet exageration. recently bought a 44 mag marlin, and most people i talked to thought very highly of it, higher of it in fact than the puma/rossi and even the winchester.
so, what do you guys think?
