The Mighty 375 Ruger gets a Facelift!

Clarke, nice upgrade.

That's the second nicest grizzly stomping rifle I know! :D

only way to improve on that rifle is to rechamber it to The New King.;):D

Fail Noel! Clarke's is swirly...that makes all the difference!

Note the question I was refering too.:slap::p

Let's not turn it into yet another stainless vs black or blued or whatever argument.

Gate's stock looks easier to hold. the tight radius in the grip is hard to get used to on Nuggets rifle. He's likes it so I guess it is fine for him.

By the way Gate, he hit a buck this fall with the help of your load recomendations, made a dandy shot from what he told me. Thanks for helping us with that.;)

Best Grizzly stomper ever? Just wait untill I get my custom 20'' BRNO 602 from Bill Leeper....should be ready any day now. :D

I would say move over 375 ruger, but it was never at the top to begin with. ;)

I had a 602 375 H&H...Grizzly hunt:

Supercub had it first.;)

Good rifle, but it's way too massive for a .375 H&H. Probably a good choice for the bigger catridges, though...And it has that backwards safety. The Ruger is much trimmer, and weighs a few pounds less.

Although I liked the 602, I like the Ruger much more.;)

Gatehouse,

Very nice rig.

Apologies if you already posted it, but, would you post the specs on that stock? Ruger MKII Classic? Color ratios?

Also, how do you find the 1.5-5 in low light? Just fine, I imagine?

I have a 'factory reject' ( SC's terminology) version of the Alaskan on the way and had already been thinking on scope and stock possiblities....

Thanks,

David

It's a Ruger MKII stock with the barrel channel specified as 375 Ruger. 90% tan, 10% black. If I was doing it again I might have added some white to it, too:)

Hey Gatehouse

Did the stock drop right in or did you have to do some fitting? I am in the process of getting a 375 Ruger right now and think I am going to get one of the coated ones. In all my research I have been told that the coated one is the stainless model that has been coated. I prefer the black look and figure the extra weather resistance can't hurt. Noel, how has the coated one your friend owns held up? Probably too early to tell. Thanks for the help guys.

Another one joins the fold:) I rather like the factory stock myself so I was wondering what some of you guys don't like about the factory stock?
