The militarys latest handgun might not be safe

No P320 has fired without it's trigger being pulled.

That said, +1 for the 92 series. M9A4 is nice.

With respect, there is a lot of evidence that disagrees with your statement. Owners Claim Sig Sauer P320 Pistol Prone to Unintentional Firing

If there is nothing wrong with the P320 firing mechanism than why does SIG offer a P320 VOLUNTARY UPGRADE PROGRAM ?

"Evidence" .

Sig's upgrade program may exist, but I'd argue as more of a placebo.

Note that a human may not have pulled the trigger, but that doesn't mean the trigger wasn't pulled.

There are Sig haters, we get it.

I've worked with hundreds of US soldiers (mostly infantry, some log and sigs) over the last year. Not one of them have complained about their M17/M18 pistol, and most say the M9 criticisms were overblown. All the M9 problems disappeared when soldiers started getting issued the newer anti-friction magazines. Personally, after shooting a M17, I think it's better than my Glock 17. The Glock 17 trigger and grip angle are unforgivable for soldiers that realistically don't get to shoot as much as most civilians think. Of note, the British soldiers I work with have simply accepted that the trigger is junk and makes it very difficult for people who don't get to shoot often to pass standards. They note that most targets are predominantly peppered with holes only on the left side. The Glock is an excellent pistol and it should be the ideal military sidearm, but not with that mushy sh1ty trigger.

That said, I can't wait to turn in this POS Browning on my hip. It wouldn't be such a big deal if Canada bought proper magazines and issued out NOS Brownings, but... at least my stoppage drills are spot on.

Glock ( and HK USP ) is a mechanically awesome machinery. The problem is like having a super car with a heavy clutch and a seat height some people just can't drive it.

Perhaps this was answered, but Sig did make some changes to the FCU, slide and striker to prevent this happening. The first units did have the very rare occasion where would fire accidentally. This upgrade prevents that. All new Sig 320's have had this modification for years, including all the military issued ones. If you happen to have an early unit, or buy some old stock somewhere, Sig will upgrade it for free. In Canada MD Charlton is looking after that. Can tell if the upgrade has been done by looking on a removed slide for the notch.

Personally, I'm not too sensitive to grip angle or even size (unless extreme). Nevertheless, I think many can get along with an H&K USP Compact quite well.

Anyone who has any complaint of the army getting Sigs clearly has no idea how damn junk the Brownings that were getting issued out were. Not that the high power itself is a bad platform, our inventory of them was just completely and utterly clapped. At least all reviews seem to point to the Sig being able to empty a mag without having multiple stoppages.

This is an illogical argument.

I did enjoy the veteran and active service members FB cartoons of the day which for instance showed soldiers throwing the Sigs at the enemy like hand grenades.

By that logic, the CF should be issuing Hi-Points.... ;)
