I just had ta!!!

So, I have been wanting an H&R Sportster .22LR for quite some time. I wanted it to break up the monotony of my offhand silhouette practice sessions, as I find an iron sight gun is fun! I just picked her up tonight and she is wearing a scope for now because I want to see how she groups. I have ordered a set of Williams peeps for it, as that is what I want! My wife wasn't upset at all, but I am sure that is due to it being very inexpensive. Her response was "It looks like a piece of junk!" SIGH......

My local Wholesale Sports here in Nanaimo, BC. Believe me, I am shocked they had one too, but they actually had 7 in stock.

I'll have to stop in at my local WSS and see if they have any. I hear they are crazy accurate.

I hope you enjoy your new gun.

Hmmm, maybe she masks anger well, usually negative comments accompany upsetness on the part of the spouse when a new rifle comes home to take your attention away! Anyway, take her comments to heart, sell it off and get a nice $1,500 rimfire, and when she freaks out, say well you said the last one looked like a piece of junk, can't be seen with junk! ;)

I have seen the accuracy of them at the range. It will be sweet wee shooter with some Williams peep sights on it. I really am impressed by the stock trigger too. For a sub $200 rifle it breaks very clean. It is in the 4lbs range, but it has a nice wide blade, so finger feel is really nice. I will post some groups when I can sneak out.

Love to see it.. TKS

Nothing beats "new gun day"...as I always say. :) Congrats on the new toy! A friend of mine just got one used in .22WMR, and that has me on a semi-serious hunt for one in 22 Hornet. Always liked them but admittedly, they are a little rough around the edges. Looking forward to hearing how yours shoots!
