How much does non-factory drilled scope holes in the receiver side hurt collector value and bring down the price from one that is not altered and bubba'd with?

It will bring the price down a fair amount, because having alterted it in that way makes it longer an original, and not longer a desirable collectable.

translation, it makes it just a regular (albiet very nice) deer rifle.
Already done it? :slap:

No, I saw one for sale at a ridiculous price that was altered in that barbaric manner.

hey coyote. what you call barbaric was what guys did "back in the day when you could buy one of these things" just like we do now" customizing". guys bought them and made them like they wanted. if you want to hunt with it then a few holes in the side mean nothing. and if you can get it for a " rediculous price" then go for it. how many of these things do you think you are going to see in your life, never mind , get to use. get it, you will like it, and consider yourself lucky. these things are getting scarce.

Not worth it, it was double the price of what it should have been (Collector price for a shooter grade).

Essentially, it looked like he overpaid on this one and was trying to upgrade to a better one by doubling the price! Sweet!
