I borrowed my friends Magma Engineering Master Caster for the weekend. Started this morning with my 147gr RNFP 9mm mold and finished with a 10mm/.40 170gr SWC. I cast about 2100 of the 9mm's and 1650 of the .40's. will be doing .38's and .44's tomorrow.

Probably our browser's aren't up to date, no one bragging about adventures with the silver stream would forget to add pictures. lol

I will usually take a weekend sometime in the winter when it is horrible outside and make enough bullets for the year for the handguns. For the rifles I usually wait until the spring because I don't do many of them and it is more of a wait until I need some affair.
 
Do you like those bevelled base bullets? Do they shoot OK? I've heard stories about increased leading in barrels compared to flat based bullets. What alloy are you using?
 
Don't ya love it when someone asks what are your reloading cost using cast bullets and you reply $2.90 for a box of 50 - 9mm.

Nice work Auggie.
My session yesterday over the Coleman and a pair of two holers ... only netted 500 or so. :runaway:

Am now all out of that hard to find dead soft lead. V:I:
 
jethunter, the bevel base boolits work just fine. I am shooting both of those out of stock Glock barrels (the horror! :eek:) No leading issues. Fit is King. I'm using air cooled wheel weights with a touch of tin added and lubed with Lar's Carnauba Red.

Working on some 130gr RNFP .38's and some 200gr RNFP .44's right now. More pics when they are done.

I love it when I tell them "that box of 444 Marlins was about 4 bucks" and not 45.00. I really love telling them that box of .455's was 4 bucks instead of 55.00 at the the store.

Auggie: If you were in the Edmonton area I have lots of soft lead.

Last week I did cast 200 ea of .570", .662", .690" lead balls for my shotguns and 500+ pc 195gr GC .360"dia RD bullets for my Marlin 336 in 35Rem. Keep buying all the lead while you still can and its price is sharply on the way up to, currently $1.03+ per lb. I have no worry with my stash of 1500+lbs.

The alloy I use for my 35Rem is 3lb of W-W+1lb of Linotype+1,25ozTin air cooled. I shoot them almost full power at 2050fps or so with Hornady gas check accuratelly (1,5"-100m) and no leading in my Ballard riffled barrel. It works for me after much experimentation so I am sticking to that formula.

Got WW ingots coming out the ying-yang, for those near-future 45/70 'n 9.3x62mm requirements .... but not an ounce of soft for the .44/.45 antiques that are currently getting shot a fair bit. Bugs a fellow, awesome molds 'n loads ... no alloy to pour.

A noble member has just now PM'd to help out, lottsa soft at a fair price, he's in Sask., Me?, central Ont. :(

Local scrapyard?, got lots, but will not re-sell.

Everybody knows you can´t shoot lead out of glock polygonal barrels. :stirthepot2:
