The Mossberg 590A1 SPX and variants

I've got the 6-shot 590A1 with the simple bead sight. Absolutely amazing shotgun. Not a single issue in the 1000 or so shells of all varieties I've put through it.

Well worth the price.

Ditto. I picked up the 6 shot, although with GRS (model#51517). I found it easier to handle than the 9 shot model.
The thing is a tank and I have never had an issue with it. The position of the safety and slide release work much better for me than the ones on the Remington product.

I have a 14" 590 with a bead and its a very easy handling SG. My 20" BlackWater edition with GR sights 9+1 is a Big BadA$$ battle SG! (One of the best deals IMO) Both are built like tanks and I've never had any issues with them.
I also prefer the position of the Mossberg controls vs the "others".....

Why is it rare?
Comes and goes just like any other model.

Epps gets them in stock....sells them out...month or so later. They get some more. Few weeks later, they are sold out.

Wanstalls has the highest price I have seen. EPPS and Frontier are less. I hope you didn;t get it there. They always charge more.

You may pay a few dollars more at Wanstalls but they're worth every penny. Best customer service in Canada. Theyll make sure that you' re satisfied with your purchase. If there's ever any issues, they make it right. Good luck with Epps...you're lucky if they'll even return your phone call. You go save yourself a few pennies. I'll stick with Wanstalls
