The Most Bizarre Sniper Rifle Ever Made

Yes Dynas…you are absolutely right, I did see snippets of home surveillance video that apparently supports that charge. Still seems silly but I’m aware of assault charges being laid when neighbours have sprayed each other with a garden hose across the backyard fence. Charges of assault with a weapon have been laid when slippers to high heel shoes have been used. Just the way our criminal code is set up. Officers responding on the scene don’t have much leeway anymore. Mandated to lay charges and let the courts sort it out. Old school policing is fading and new young police officers don’t have much discretion anymore…and like everyone else in society your options are either toe the line or risk your job that pays your mortgage and feeds your family.
….i just tried to inject some humour into a sad situation.

I didn't watch the video but I assume that any rifles is using by a Sniper is a Sniper rifle, I mean the white death used a simple bolt action rifle. It's all about the shooter and location.
Not only that, he apparently also favoured iron sights (less issues with fogging).

Ugh. Who designed the thing? Uhh a scout rifle. I am guessing Cooper would have liked a bolt handle that stuck out to the side more. The arm was supposed to be a 'universal' rifle, you'd think this would include making it fireable from either shoulder. The extended eye relief scope fit into this universal aspect.

It seems as though the Steyr SSG 69 was the ancestor to the Cooper scout rifle concept. Who remembers the Magnum PI episode where Thomas goes native and grabs his trusty Steyr to exact revenge on an enemy.

As I recall you could get eight round magazines for the SSG69.
