I honestly don't think this cartridge will last

never trust pre-loaded ammo from nosler... they're notorious for inconsistency in powder measurement and wont admit it so you're sitting there trying to figure out why you're getting 16'' groups at 100m,
if you call them they'll send you through everything, tighten your scope rings, were you shooting from bench was there a lot of wind..
then tell you your rifle just doesn't like their ammo "buy something else"
and have on occasion loaded wet powder as well... gotta love hangfires'
i take the advice they gave me and buy anything else

Looks like a barrel burner.
6 or 6.5mm might garner more attention, but then it is competing with Grendel and 6mm AR
Everything that is made to fit with the AR-15 critical dimensions is a compromise.
Someone needs to build an intermediate cartridge on an intermediate rifle that bridges the gap between AR-15 and AR-10 sizes - kind of like the CMMG mutant, but move it forwards instead of backwards...

I looked at this at Shot. I think that if we could actually use our AR's for something like hunting gophers and coyotes this would make a lot of sense. However for a range toy expensive ammo and proprietary mags have no real purpose that I can see. There will always be those few that want one, just to try it out, but for the average shooter in Canada I can't imagine it catching on. This is not a reflection on how good (or bad) the cartridge is, or isn't, but more a limitation of our use up here.

It's not a dramatic improvement, be nice for shooting 80gr hpbt's (1 at a time of course) out of a 20" barrel. It is an improvement if you're shooting heavy bullets. According to my calculator, at 500 yds the 5.56/77gr hpbt drops 11" more than the 22Nos/77gr hpbt, at 1000 the difference is 80". Long range with heavy for caliber bullets it looks pretty good, but if you're not shooting past 300 yds, I agree it's pointless.

It's a semi-auto version of the 225 Win...I like it!

If anyone is spending time single loading 80s and 90s in .223 they ought to be looking beyond them in the 6mm and 6.5mm calibers, IMHO.

No argument from me, there are several variations with those rough case dim., from 22 to .308, if I could I'd have a few of them.

It may be an answer looking for a problem, but those ballistics do look real nice, if 2900 fps is realistic from 20" barrel and a 77 SMK, it'll shoot nice and flat from the mag.
