It's old news to many here that the Sig P320 beat out Glock, FN, S&W, Beretta, etc... to win the US modular competition for the first American Sidearm since the Berretta M9 in 1985. The P320 will be the first semi-auto pistol I've purchased in ten years and the first genuine Sig. I brag about my Norinco NP-22 all the time (Sig P226 clone). Considering the reviews on CGN and in the media I'm sure I'll be pleased even though I swore years ago I'd never own a plasticy Glock type striker fired 9mm. The prices are right, it's a Sig, and the army contract should make them collectible as well as rare once the contract gets going. Anyway, I'm excited to have it on the way and hope to get, and give, more input on the P320's abilities. BTW there's two left at Bullseye for $740.

Congrats, I'm sure you won't be disappointed in your new " plasticky striker fired" handgun lol. Looking forward to a range report when you get it,, let us know if the US made the right choice :)

Having owned Glocks forever and having tried the P320. It is a nice gun. Not the most esthetic ( This coming from a Glock guy!!) and it does what it is suppose to do.
I would pony up for a Compact with the Romeo 1 installed but since we can't get one with the prohib barrel, I'll just keep shooting my Glock. The modular design does nothing for me personally.

I'm not sure how "collectible" or "rare" they'll be, but they sure are a nice shooter.

Have fun with it!

<---- This. They'll be about as 'rare' as Colt 1911 pattern pistols and Beretta 92's. And don't think for a moment that Sig won't be adding additional manufacturing capacity and/or running additional shifts at the manufacturing plant. They won't have to make them all at once either, it's not as though the US Army is currently lacking functional pistols and requires them all in one large shipment, it will be an ongoing transition for quite some time.

That aside, I hope the OP enjoys their new pistol. I can relate to the Glock reluctance, it was a thing for me too for over a decade until just recently. I got over it!

Just got mine last week... 250 rounds in I absolutely love it.
I think the US army made a great choice... personally I could care less about the modular ability of switching caliber or grip sizes, but i may pick up an fde or green grip module.
Not quite my glock 34 but still my second favourite and I've shot most of the options.

Shot a Glock 34 and a P320 side by side this past weekend, and yeah, really big fan of the 34. I am finding the yet to be released X-Five very interesting though.

I am not sure collectible and rare are two words I would associate with a mass produced polymer framed pistol selling for $740Cdn but then I didn't think Trump would ever be elected as much more than a dog catcher so there you are.

The 320 I will wait for will be the Optic sighted version. I do believe those born today will one day look back and wonder why we ever used notch and post sights. From my limited experience the slide mounted Optic is going to be a game changer in the LEO and civilian carry market in the future. SIG, if they market & price the combo properly could well lead the industry similar to what Glock did back in the day. S&W left out the key component...the sight when they introduced their CORE pistol.

Take Care

I just put $ down on the RX yesterday. Feels good in the hand, we waits for the paperwork to clear to find out how she shoots :)

If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for the gun? I didn't realize they are in Canada. Please let us know how the gun performs and your observations on the sight.

Take Care

They are rare and collectible right now, mostly in the US. As for the future, we'll see. Opinions can't be proven of course and only time will tell. Ask yourself what the first year of production NIB: Colt 1911 Gov't or Beretta 92 is now. Ha.

I too bought a P320 RX last week. Just impatiently waiting for the transfer now as the dealer warned me that transfers were taking two weeks. It was $1099.00 which considering the exchange rate now seemed like a pretty good deal as I was expecting the price to be much higher.
I was surprised that they were finally available here and jumped on the deal right away as I had been watching for them to show up.

Anything NIB Colt is collectible. Beretta? Maybe I guess. I don't really think so. But any mass produced polymer pistol? I doubt it. In any event, not gaining value with time.

I'm out of the loop on this specific model then. Tons of P320's for sale at the stores in North Dakota and Montana when I was there last year, box stores had them, our stores have them. everywhere had them. Like GLocks.

What is so specific and collectible about the new 2017 model? I'm obviously missing something here. I see a Glock or M&P in Sig clothing.

They are stupid popular now because it was just announced as the winner of the handgun competition for the American military. They are getting scarce Stateside so I have read. Once Sig increases production and peoples desire fades to try the P320 out to see what the hoopla is about everything will be back to normal. As you said there is nothing special about a plastic gun.
