The NEW Auto Mag!

I noticed on the site that they plan on introducing a blued variant. It looked pretty nice. I really hope this works and prices aren't stratospheric.

Better..engine blocks (yeah, I'm kidding) BUT this from the makers:
"The new bolt has more than twice the surface area and is once again made from solid stock and not a casting. This is estimated to increase the maximum chamber pressure by 50%. If this proves out you would be able to shoot a 240gr bullet at 1750 fps as a standard round."

Standard .44 remingtons top out in about the 1400 fps range for 240's - normally.

That is super hot. There have been many developments in metallurgy over the past few decades, particularly with stainless, so it will be interesting to see how they manifest in the re-release.

got this today:

You have been busy; we have been busy.

Your time is valuable and so is ours, so here the latest update quickly, in four points:

First, hopefully everyone watched the video of the all new upper assembly fire. What Max calls the Auto Mag X. We learned a lot. Among the insight gained using a high speed camera was the fact we are close, but not quite there yet. R&D efforts continue.

Second, due to the response of many of our follows we will make an “original” Auto Mag with only minor changes. Stay tuned.

Third, many people have asked if they could invest or buy stock in Auto Mag. We are not currently seeking outside investments at this time. But if you would like to be on a list to be notified we will add a checkbox on the website.

Fourth, and most exciting, we are pleased to pre-announce the All New Auto Mag .22LR Conversion Kit! You heard correctly, and we heard a lot of you say, "I wish I could fire my Auto Mag more often." And more affordably. We also learned that in Europe it is hard to find a firing range that allows larger caliber weapons, and fewer that want their property destroyed by arguably the most powerful handgun in the world! Enter the .22 Long Rifle semi-automatic Auto Mag. It should take only minutes to install and remove. Take a look at it in action: video

We expect a price point at retail around $795 for the complete kit — everything you need. We will offer a discount for those willing to commit early. Just not today. Give us a few weeks to thoroughly test every aspect of the manufacturing, processes and quality control. We have added a checkbox on the sign up screen for this too. Just revisit the website, complete your name, email, interest level and checkbox. No need to complete the fields unless there is something new to share with us.

Now, back to the work of making it happen.

Enthusiastically,

—Team Auto Mag

P.S. Please share with your friends and suggest they sign up on the website:

Their goal is the high 2k's (u.s.) or about the current price of used automags...let's call it 2700 us so yeah 3500 and change. good call!

But this isn't in the league with an STI, it's more like a Korth.

Well, the 22lr Baby Auto Mag that AMT made and the Ruger MK are certainly close to being dead ringers- minus the rib.

Yep, its' another interesting chapter in the AM and in fact Ruger threatened to sue over the Baby Auto Mag and stopped it's sale. As always there's a lot to the story and if you're interested it's out there for you. BAM's are going for about 2700 US right now too... :(
