The New Beretta 92X

Are g kits available for sale in Canada? If so I wonder if they would work in my 90-two.

I bought mine through Brownells. Stoeger Arms should have them or can get them. Stoeger is owned by Beretta. The kit is worth every penny. Yes on the 90-two AFAIK. Ask Stoeger

Im glad they're doing something like that with a 92. But a couple aren't doing it for it. 1. Why is that beavertail swept down instead of up?? 2. And those sights pretty ugly that overhang is not really necessary.

But nice to see them bring back the steel frame.

They were inspired by the CZ 85 Combat. Why does it matter?

Seems to make sense to me, if putting pressure on thumb safety and the new match, take down, gas peddle, and it's a counter leaver for a secure grip, pushing into the web of the hand ... inspired by CZ or not ... I'm sure hands on side by side comparisons it's an improvement, if not odd in looks, it's functional.

Good point. Personally I could never figure out why CZ went away from the down turn beavertail. Maybe the up swept tail looks cooler. It makes sense for hammer fired guns I guess. Certainly it may have been inspired by the Colt Commander and the 1911 where the beavertail goes up not down. One would like to think there is a practical reason for one vs the other.

the "leverage" you get by riding frame safeties is nowhere near the big deal some make it. I have no issue running my gun as fast or faster than pretty much anyone with frame safeties. It's all about a proper grip.
A G slide for this gun would have been ideal, but also would mean a bit more mass in the slide, which maybe they were trying to get it light. not sure really. I'm assuming that some of the people throwing input into this were safety lovers.

Looks interesting. The checkering on the front & rear of the frame and 'saw-tooth' serrations on the slide look aggressive. My soft office hands won't like that . Wouldn't mind that set of sights on my 92A1.

I notice the fiber optic rod in the front sight does not go all the way through.

That is for stealth purposes. If you are looking at the pistol from the wrong end you will never see it. Just one of the little known secrets hidden in the bowels of SMIRSH or SPECTER or just one less end to have to worry about breaking off and losing the FO.

I contacted Stoeger a few years back. They said no to them importing them. I will try Brownels once my funds improve.

It has only relatively recently that Beretta started selling the kits with enthusiasm. It is a stock item now so you might try them again. I got raped on shipping costs from Brownells so if you can buy it landed in Canada you will save yourself some coin. I bought two of them for my two A1's. I forget what the shipping ,taxes and and fees were but I do remember I choked all of that nearly doubled the price.
