The ####ing goddamn unfinished part from Brownells, stock number 080-031-841 NO. 840-12 DOVE-TAIL SCOPE BASE STOCK is considered a 'finished item" and one that requires an IIC, I recieved this information from Ms. Sandy Moranville, of Brownells, INC. Welcome to the new chicken####. Nothing personal Americans, but this is the type of bull #### that turns me off about America. I don't care about people in Africa killing each other, that's not my business, why should I have to pay the price for someone else's ####ups?

fat tony,

Don't hold back, let us know how you really feel...... ;)

Just to state... it is not Brownell's fault..... it is a combination of Government policies. The general American public don't like a lot of what has been implemented as well. The licensed businesses have no choice in the matter of what the can or can not ship.

To give Brownells credit, they will do the paperwork for export orders, and don't charge an arm and a leg for it. So many US businesses simply won't take Cdn. orders. Hardly worthwhile for a single little .22 scope base though. There are some controlled items that I would like to get, barrel liners, etc. One of these days, I'm going to work up an order large enough to justify the paperwpork.

Every item that could go on a gun is considerd a gun part, at least by Brownells. I ordered $1.60 worth of 1/2" 6-48 screws for a jig I have and they would not ship without paperwork. I know they are wrong in this case but what can you do.

There are ways.???

Buy it, ship it to someone you know. Have them bring it back with them
or mail it. You must know one snowbird. I think an individual can even
mail it to you, but they can't charge for it as that would be exporting.

Been there and tried to do that....

Brownells usually will not fill restricted orders originating outside of the US due to the fact there may be a good chance it will be illegally reshipped. They do not want to lose their business license and be fined if they are caught breaking the US laws.

DONT GET ME STARTED. When down a the Shot Show in Vegas I couldn't pass up the oppertunity to rip those */?!!*ing no service >?)*#! suckers a new one. So they informed me that they were going to make export customers a priority and do like many of their competitors and get paperwork organized for their customers instead of the other way around. After all its a U.S. export issue not a Canadian import one. I tried to have them ship a few items to my hotel in Vegas as in years past but they declined because they still havent won DOUCHE BAG OF THE YEAR award for abismal service. I wonder what they think someone would do with some rust blue solution and some 6x48 screws. There I feel so much better now. Rant over, D.H.

bush paranoia

I do not like that b.s?&* it too, but Brownells still ship in Canada while many others just do not do it at all ,re : Midway USA to name one. Sandy Moranville was very helpfull last time I ordered a .45 ACP barrel. You have to do your part and plan ahead : when requesting a Canadian permit, list ALL you wish for the next 6 months !! Therafter, when you order, you will wait only for the US paperwork.

Do not blast the dealer who are still willing to help and ship. We will end up with a much worse situation if US dealers would not ship in Canada anymore. Be nice ..:)
