Does the new Python have the same 'stacking' DA pull as the original?

This could be tuned out of the gun by a knowledgable 'smith and it was standard to make it a good gun for PPC.
 
It will definitely be an easy to tune and dial in action. Sturdier and I can see why it is smoother without the original wall before the break.

It won’t have the DA stacking before the break. It’s a simplistic V Spring action, the lockwork is beautifully made that I can attest.
 
Is that the sound of another bitter millennial who couldnt afford to buy something nice that they wanted....? I like all my 'over-inflated' Colts, but my retirement is actually a portfolio managed by Jarislowsky Fraser. It's up enough this year I could buy a few dozen over inflated bright stainless Pythons. How'd your investments do, snowflake?

When I think of the originals with collector value, pretty much all of yours, TC. The Alberta is still one of a kind.
 
You can also compare the top strap on both new and old Pythons in the pictures above. There’s nearly 30% more steel material on the new Python.

Stronger, simpler and more robust looking mechanism (which should deal with timing issues as well I would expect), looks like a potentially winning design. I bet ol' Jellybean will have work for the foreseeable future taking new Pythons and making them 'betta'! Like, warm butter betta!

Looks like the 14 less parts are in all the smaller stuff like pins etc and a different safety mechanism which is is 3 parts in itself including the pin on the old guns. The overall design of the action is pretty much the same. The stacking in DA that everyone hates is actually pretty easy to tame on the old guns.

**Those are some seriously long notches leading to the cylinder lock on the cylinder. Almost twice as long as on the originals....Gone are the days of "drag lines" LOL

Yup, drag line will be gone on this new snake. It’s simply for design tho, it won’t make the revolver perform better.

A dragline is something i hate on a revolver even more than an idiot scratch on a 1911.

A simple geometry tweak on the DA sear will eliminate the wall or stacking. While at it tuning the ratchet on each chamber will optimize timing and lockup. Adjusting and slight polishing of the bolt will eliminate all the «#clicks#» you frequently hear while working the DA action of the Python. All this plus some extra fine tuning will indeed make it very smooth. Takes a little more time than doing S&W’s but the result is indeed rewarding.
 
If it isn't available in the Royal Blue I doubt I'd be interested. That was half the mystique. I have yet to find a Colt revolver that is comfortable in my big paw.
 
What do you mean "simply for design"?
I think they did it so that they can be less concerned about where the cylinder bolt/latch lands on the cylinder which on the old guns was part of the timing process.

It is still part of the timing process on the new Python. The idea was to differ the notch so drag line would be nearly non existent and consistent locking on the cylinder with keeping the notch skipping and wear at a minimum over a lot of use.

Apparently these will follow in the summer according so some boards in the US.
 
Remember that with use both the cylinder notches and bolt would prematurely wear out. With this design it will definitely take less wear over time.
