The NEW SPRINGFIELD WAYPOINT

I believe they have AG Composites making the stocks for them. If the rifle performs even the upper end of 2K is a good price, considering the cost of a similar quality stock + CFW barrel + action + bottom metal + rail, etc.

As far as wait for this or try to get a Sig Cross I think they could be similar time lines the way things are going, seems site sponsors have gone silent about the latter, and a local place I called on Monday said "Who knows, they haven't been released in the U.S. even"... well they have for a while... but even down there they not being released as fast as people are buying them.

If time lines and cost end up being close enough I think the Springfield would win in my books. Granted they are sort of different... a cross would be a great toss under the seat truck gun, while a CF barrel precision style rifle for me would be... my... my precious... I have never seen an issue with Springfield products personally fwiw. Excellent stuff historically.

Interesting that Springfield would sponsor someone who knows little about precision bolt rifles to review it??? Maybe that’s the market they’re after..

I thought it was a little weird also for the choice of media personality but maybe thats the one they could afford? Have dealt with in the past? Ect?
I dont put to much thought into things like that. Nothing to say there wont be more also and he is just the first to get a video out with it.

Yea, Ive learned my lessons on pre orders. So I know I wont be pre ordering anything. Ill wait till stock is in.
I figured the sig is just a good cover all bases type rifle for a dude who likes to dabble in hunting, target, tacticool ect.

I'm not seeing what makes this rifle special for $1875 USD. Sig Cross is more interesting to me at this point.

What am I missing?

Just price out something similar. You will end up in the same price bracket. Carbon fibre, quality stock, etc adds up fast, but obviously that doesn't mean it will tickle everyones fancy.

CanadianKeeper, agreed. I would rather let the pre-order guys clean out the first stock, then buy one a month later at a discount from the guy who bought, shot, and got bored... or got in Mrs. trouble because it is different enough looking he couldn't sell the "I already had that one" line! :p

For that price point, I think buying a cheap Tikka T3 (for the action), carbon fiber barrel (or fluted metal) + AG Composite stocks (or similar), would probably be my preference. Or just get a Barret Fieldcraft.

Nonetheless, more options are always a good thing.

for real, also its good to see if there is any issues.

.75MOA garantee? Am I too fancy or this is not that good for a rifle of this price?

It's a pretty week garantee. I'm sure the rifle is much more capable, but the problem with a garantee is you'll get a bunch of people they thinking they can shoot 1/4" moa when they can't shoot worth #### complaining the rifle is defective. For that reason alone, rifle builders shouldn't garantee any amount of accuracy unless it's specified with ammo.
