I used to have a diamondback scope in the past for my CZ 452 .22lr
I know they work well within these parameters.
They have now released a FFP version, which looks interesting to me for a .22lr precision rifle trainer.

I currently own a razor gen 2 for my centerfire and love it, but don't want to put that much money in a trainer.
For a ruger rpr 22 I think this diamondback should fit the bill very nice.

At this point I suspect turrets will not track properly.
But having a Christmas tree reticule will negate the need to crank turrets anyways.

+1 to this question. I would love some good info.

I came onto the optic forum to make almost this exact post, as I am very interested in the Diamondback Tactical 4-16x44 FFP for my Ruger Precision Rimfire.

Don't necessarily count on the x-mas tree reticle negating the need to dial if you're planning on running this on a trainer. On my Savage MkII (with a 20 moa base), from a 100 yard zero it's 5.6 mils to 200 and 12.0 to 300 (with CCI SV in the conditions the last time I shot it). The reticle on my Bushnell LRTSi only goes to 10 mils. I normally dial to 9.0 and hold 3.0. Just saying it could be an issue if you plan on shooting far-ish.

The CRPS match I just went to in Merritt had a target at 328yds... with the right ammo, a volleyball would be in real trouble at that distance. There are no shortage of vids of shooters going to 500yds and beyond with a rimfire.

You will be dialing and using the reticle in this type of game.

If you are just plinking for fun, use whatever method you prefer

Got some great Athlon optics options if interested. Tracking on all the scopes I have tested and currently use have been very good.

We will discuss in the winter/spring...
Just saw your rimfire match thread, and i think the athlon ares is what i am looking for
My rpr 22 has got an 18” barrel and does not lose gas at the bolt being a bolt action
I think it will be able to perform

The scope is meant to be dialed.
If it doesn't they'll replace it.
Sometimes you have to calibrate your scopes clicks and to your actual real world drop. This is a reality with many scopes, even high end scopes and most ballistic software will allow you to compensate for that. As long as it is repeatable is really all that matters as long as its minimal variation from actual.

All scopes can and do fail....even NF & S&B no matter what their owners say...just much less likely to.

I somehow have a hard time grasping the concept of dialing a 500$ regularly, it just ought to fail in my mind.
Will be impatiently waiting for reviews, as if it can endure more than a few dialings (although I will use this rimfire setup much less than my 308), it's the perfect price point for a 22 trainer.
Even if image tanks after being cranked to near max at distant targets, it's only for a 22 at 100-250M so will likely not be pushed to it's max.

I bought the 4-16 and am super impressed so far for the price. I haven't done any tracking tests yet. Hopefully I can get out soon to do a box test. Will report back.
