well after reading all the problems guys have had me and the kid just raced up to the range, 5 min drive from home , it does have issues ejecting all rounds , BUT , the dam barrel came loose again and the mags I have are well used and have fairly weak springs as they empty out, need to deal with this loose barrel issue as it came to us lose I tightened it and within 50 rounds it was loose again....loctight I am thinking and a couple new mags

Nice toy, let us know how it performs after a few bricks of ammo thru it!

On rimfirecentral quite a few guys are raving about the Tactical Innovation magazine for the 10/22, you can fine tune the angle they sit in the action therefore fixing most of the feeding problems... I ordered a few, can't wait to try them out:)

And they are Canadian friendly...

I had one of the "porbem" R22's (still have it...but it's no longer a "problem")
I too had the failure to eject.....I put in a VQ extractor, and have had no issues with extraction since. Loctite will work, but what I found that I really liked was hot glue...seriously. Heat up the threads with a propane torch or heat gun, rub a hot glue stick on the threads, put it in place, let it cool. Then heat the retaining nut and screw it into place and tighten, then allow it to cool. Problem solved!

Like jjohnwm, I too am wondering, "What is that thing?"

I suspect it's simply a Ruger 10/22 on its way to a Halloween party. Am I right? Disguised as a "Bad Black RIfle," right?

Now, If you are a TRUE rimfire officianado and want to own and shoot an HONEST military look-alike in .22rf caliber, pick up one these pictured below: the Thompson Model 1927A3 from Auto-Ordnance. All factory and all original. A neat little toy with a classic profile that never becomes outdated.

However, ALL guns are fun to collect, right? ---mauser

What is the clasification (restricted/Non/ Prohib), and price of one of those?

RESPONSE TO DarrylDB

Sorry, but I don't know about Canadian restrictions. Here in the U.S. it's just another .22rf semi-auto rifle. They're fairly scarce and expensive, though not prohibitively so. Because there were only a limited number made, and it's been several decades since they were made, they are becoming more and more sought after by collectors. I think the last one I saw advertised was over a year ago and the asking price was $1,250. Don't know if it sold at that, and haven't seen one offered since.

I bought this one some time back when I was going through a phase of collecting various .22rf military look-alikes. I'm over that and mainly into older, collectible .22s. Will be selling off all this more modern iron at auction.

Was fun owning them for a while. Now it's someone else's turn. ---mauser

Here's another fun look-alike. The Italian Pietta .22rf Bingham PPS-50. (The one at bottom of photo.)

Boy...are you wrong.....

The Rhineland R22 is NOT a 10/22. The initial models used a 10/22 bolt (just the bolt...not the carrier, reciever, trigger group, etc...just the bolt) but thats about all it had in common with the ruger. Now they uuse their own bolt and have NOTHING in common with the 10/22.

The reciever/carrier and forestock/rail are machined from aluminum, the gun uses an AR/15 trigger group, and features a 1" heavy barrel which is threaded into Rhinelands own milled reciever. The grip set is AR/15, while the stock is HK G3.

Here's a pic of mine broken down into the base components.....does it look like a 10/22 to you? I guess this makes it a "True Military Look alike"
