Lots of new cartridges out there. Most catering to fast twist high bc bullet target shooters. Lots of overlap case capacity wise.
But one is like to see is a lengthened 223 type case, further even than the 222 Rem Mag which will push a 50 gr 22 cal bullet to 4000 fps. Or necked up to 6mm would be a nice deer gun. The small bolt face world is a wonderful place to be ime. Brass is easily sized, pushed pressure wise, lots of unused mag box, great barrel life.
Since the 204 Ruger nothing really has been changed in this class of cartridges.
Tell me your feelings.

6mm-.204 or some variation is neat. Something ballistically like a 6ARC but on a .223 case head to avoid the .440” case hassles. I doubt US manufacturers will do a .378” case head cartridge that won’t fit into an AR mag though, and smaller cal bolt gun options are a pretty crowded arena.

take the 7.62x45 developed by Czechs for the Vz52, take some of the taper out of it, blow out the shoulders and change the shoulder angle and neck it down to .257"

would make a fantastic little deer cartridge

would work well with any calibers between 6mm and 7mm

Hornady should concentrate on keeping stock of existing cartriges and components rather then come out with something else that they won't support after a few years

Sounds like a new version of the 257 Roberts. Roberts has a x57mm case, but blowing out the taper and basically AI your x43 case would make it very close. Unfortunately, the 257 Roberts is on life support, really I doubt any 25cal cartridge is in the top 50 for rifles and ammo sales.

If the 25 creedmore became popular, it might inspire new bullets. If one 25 became popular, there might be a place for your idea.

Think there was a 25 sharps, iirc, 223 necked up to 257. That could work as a deer round because of the US market and their Ar's. Unfortunately, just like the 25bore, nothing 223/ar length has taken off with lots of ideas tried.

Not sure if it pertains to the OP, but the obvious "next" big round will be the 277 sig fury.

maybe I 'm missing something here for the .284
Nah
to start over now , nope
very happy where I is
Even the 222 is just right

What they’re finding is the 6.5 PRC case holds a small amount more powder than the .284 but the extra brass around the primer pocket is holding pressure much better than the .284 win and the primer pockets are lasting longer, that’s the word from a few gunsmiths/f-class guys
