The Norc 1911's just landed in Canada !!

HAWK 223;
I can understand you frustartion waiting for your pistol (1911a1 ??) BUT how could you be waiting for 2 months ?? We did not have any two months ago ??

At the beginning of December we advised customers that we would ship in about 3 weeks.... If my math is on then that is exactly waht we did ????

If only we were as effecient as all the arm chair retailers on this board....

MERRY CHRISTMAS regardless.
John

John,

Thanks for the Merry Christmas wishes and Merry Christmas to you too. I am sorry and I realize this is bad publicity but I actually ordered a NZ85 and a M93 that were both in stock when I ordered them over two months ago (as far as the website and the person who took my order). I have had the registration certificates for a while now. When I ordered my 1911 last year it came in 3 weeks and I was expecting the same. Truth be told I am extra frustrated because they are sitting at the post office and I can't get them until Thursday. At which time I won't have any time to do anything with them. I know this is not your fault and, I am really more frustrated with the ATT center as they decided that they didn't need to be at work after 12:00 on the 24th. I didn't even find out I had a parcel until after they were closed. It wasn't a stat and the post office was working as well as the regular transfer center.

Merry Christmas

Received mine (NP28)2 weeks ago:p,

Nice finish after all and it came in a rigid plastic box (too small to use a trigger lock). Went to the range couple of days ago to try it out and fired 150rounds. Nothing went wrong...

I will have to get used to the sights since they are thin and non adjustable. My lasts groupings where getting better, it is definitely not the gun but the shooter.I find the rubber grips maybe a little big, I will try wooden 1911 grips to see if it makes a difference.

All in all, I'm very satisfied with it.

I also have a Norinco M-14 and very satisfied with it.

SPENCER;

You have never waited more than a week for a restricted transfer ?? Please enlighten all the members present, this is truely an admirable acheivement, how do you do it ?

Hardly admirable at all, I just expect civil servants to show a bit of service.
I call the CFC as soon as the seller has given me the transfer number. (This is usually on the first day of the transfer process.) The CFC then tell me to call back next week. I have always called them again two days later, and they have either told me that it is in the hands of my local firearms officer, or they tell me it has not been processed by them yet. If the latter is the case I call them back the next day. Without fail by this time (three days have passed) it is in the hands of my local firearms officer. I then call my local firearms officer and he then approves the transfer and faxes me an ATT to collect the firearm from the post office and take it home.

I find this hard to beleive, you asked for the ref number and it was NOT given to you ??

Yes that is exacly what happened.

What would be our interest in keeping it "secret" ??

I have absolutely no idea, I can only tell you what happened. I came to the conclusion that you were either unbelieveably busy or could not care less.

I am really sad to hear that you were frustrated to the point of cancelling your order. Not something we like to hear.

I you wish, please provide me with the details so I can look up the file....

On the first of November I emailed my order...

"Hi, Please find below my completed order form. If you need any further info please drop me a line"

On 30th of November I emailed you....

"Hi

I ordered a new Norinco 1911 a little while ago. I know a few people have recieved Norinco 1911's from the latest batch you brought in and was wondering if you had shipped mine yet. I also ordered two extra 1911 mags and two NP30 mags. Please let me know what's happening."

On the December 5th you replied saying...

"Not yet ,we are still waiting for the approval of the transfer .THANK YOU !! F."

On December the 5th I emailed you back saying...

"Please let me have the transfer reference number and I will call the CFC and find out what the problem is.

Thanks "

I did not get a reply.

By the 15th of December I had come to the conclusion that for some unexplained reason you did not want to sell me a pistol so I cancelled my order.......

"Hi, I no longer able to proceed with my order. Please cancel it.

Thanks"

On 21st of December you acknowleged recipt of my email cancelling the order.

I have since ordered a pistol elsewhere.

That's not the same thing as someone refusing to give you the transfer number.

Of the many things that Marstar do well, email is not one of them (check any one of a dozen threads on the subject). In other words, phone and talk to a real person, as your email is one of hundreds they receive each day and there's highly likely to be some slippage.

Is that ideal? No, especially for a firm that doesn't have a storefront and relies on the internet and print for their business. But it's the price you pay for their prices. For more personalised service, the 1911s are available for about $100 extra elsewhere. You choose.

Definitely phone. It doesn't take long to place an order. That they do well. I am not sure how the email system works for paying but your an idiot if you email any credit card information!

From my experience there seems to be a miscommunication between Marstar and the CFC so you might get better results if you chase that down on the phone too. The people at Marstar tell me that the CFC does not inform them the transfer is complete however, that doesn't make any sense. But then again does anything to do with the CFC make any sense? Anyway if you call the CFC and find out the transfer has been approved I would call Marstar so they can check that it is so and ship.

Phone 'em, close the deal, get the salesperson's name, note the time and date. Then bug the CFC until you get satisfaction :)

Okay, it's phone then. Good to know. Thanks... ;)

Just as a comparison.... every deal I've done on a restricted with my local dealer (in person) if say I buy/pay for on a given day then via the CFC/BC CFO it goes thru in 2 - 3 days. Dealer calls in the transfer & then gets the ATT faxed to him & I can pick it up the next time he's open. [I'm talking about our local dealer that is only open Fri, Sat, Sun. I always pick up on the following Fri morning].

HAWK223;
OK now I have all the info at hand.... I have replied you in a PM but will also reply here since this posting may have given the readers the wrong impression....

As I mentioned, your order was completed on November 23rd 2007....

When we accessed the CFC we ran into "a conflict" and the transfer was put on hold....

We were not aware that you had moved and did not find out for some time....

We finaly cleared up the problem on December 15th, we received the transfer the same day.... We invoiced your order (15th Dec) and shipped it out on the 19th....

I think you will agree that this was simply an unfortunate set of circumstances and NOT delays originating at Marstar.

However the most important thing is that you are about to pick them up at your post office....
enjoy
John

Thanks John for looking into it. It was unfortunate. I don't know how it happened in the way it did as I didn't move until the 15th. The CFC had it's wires crossed. I had to call to check where my authorization to transport to my new house was and was told they already had my new address as current and the ATT was there. They also told me I had multiple ATT's active from a previous address.

I picked them up today and they look real nice. I just finished cleaning them up and they are ready for a trip to the range. I had hoped to go tonight but it is too late since I have to work tomorrow. I can't wait to try them out!
