I was thinking of getting that deact. from wolverine just for the hell of it.....but looks like I was thinking too long

I'd love to own one (or more!). I wonder what they would cost it they were available?

The part which really burns me is I can go shooting with a different semi-auto .223 but i'd be missing all the "looking cool with an AK factor".
I have to settle for "looking cool with an AR" (or something else.)

Its funny to me the law which prohibits AK variants is sort of a "look cool factor" law. If there was ever a set of laws passed to make politicians "look cool" to antis - its our gun laws.

I've got 2 of the semi Norc AK varients (not that I'm allowed to shoot them lately). They are classed 12.5 prohib.

Price-wise, I had one given to me by a buddy sick of dealing with the "system", and I paid $400 for the other.

The Type 88 shown wouldn't be too useful here anyways without a good source of ammo.

Of course. I have shot 5.45mm at $5 a pop long ago. I prefer about 25 cents.

Whups. I thought this thing was chambered in 5.56x45mm (.223)

I'm thinking of the AK-100?

Where there ever any AK typed rifles in 5.56x45mm legally ownable in Canada?

Now I have to go read bout the 5.45x39mm cartridge ...

There was a time when it was much cheaper and easier to find .223 Rem than surplus 7.62, so many of the Norinco guns imported into canada were in .223.

I think a 223 AK74 would be a good variant if short and compact with nothing smaller than a 10.5" barrel.

I heard that the original Bakelite AK74 mags can easily be modified to take 223 cartridges...change the follower and voila.
