The Norinco M334 in detail. A bizarre Mauser variant! Now with range report.

The Norinco M334, which I checked out last week, was of such poor workmanship, that I would not want to put it in the safe with my other guns.

ANY used rifle from site sponsors like Intersurplus is a much, much better choice!

To pay $500. (plus taxes, plus shipping) for one of these incredibly crude Communist Chinese Mauser copies, when for less money you can buy a used good condition Swedish steel Husqvarna rifle is ridiculous.

(Anyone who hasn't already bought at least a couple of the very affordable used Scandinavian rifles currently on the Canadian market, should do so. Some of them will require a bit of work, but it's generally just some minor crack repair and stock refinishing: easy relaxing work for most of us. And in the end you will have an heirloom rifle, not a pile of Chinese scrap metal.)

Life is too short to own, shoot, hunt with pieces of #### gun! To me it has to look good shoot good and be well made!

I finally got around to uploading pictures of the scope mounting job on the M334. Again its a 75 Weaver in the front and a 48 machined flat in the rear. Has plenty of elevation and enough windage in the boresighter. When I get around to shooting it I'll let you know. The trigger is actually kind of nice how adjustable it is however, someone who doesn't know what they're doing could easily cause the trigger to be very dangerous. I got it set to 3lbs 2oz with a first stage take up and a tiny bit of creep at the wall. I plan to shoot it as is first to see what accuracy is like then the plans after would be to bed it and test again.

Theres an FRT entry for the M334 in 7.62x39mm, yet I havent seen any around for purchase. Given the current circumstances (posting in an old thread, my bad) who's in charge of the current .308 M334 imports, to bring in x39 models?
I'd love a factory 12.5" threaded barrel x39 bolt action and I'm not sure where else to ask about that being a possibility, so I'm sharing my wishful thoughts here and hope to receive anything insightful
