I was told the shipping to BC would be in the area of $35-$40 via Canada Post.

Sounds about right, I was quoted $30+ for shipping to Alberta. To my door for under $500, I'm pleased. BEST THING IS, IT'S MY FIRST GUN EVER!! I'M A GUN NUT FINALLY!!! :D

I dont know for a fact, but from what I've read its best to stay far away from the Norinco HiPower clones. Lots of problems with them. I believe there's at least one thread on it here. Use the money to get another 1911 clone, they rock.

Good morning everyone:

We really appreciate all the interest shown in our incoming shipment and are working as quickly and efficiently as possible to gather your orders, reserve the rifles, and have everything ready to roll for when the Norinco products are in stock and ready to ship.

Now we need to ask you a favour: in order to make the reservation process as streamlined and efficient as possible, we'd like to minimize the amount of followup needed per order. This will free up our parts department to handle our shipment rather than hunting down or calling clients back for missing information.

An unidentified client emailed us with said:
Put my name on [quantity omitted] of them... When you can give me pricing I will give
you a credit card number which you can take an authorization from...
My PAL should be on file if not let me know...

Signed,

[first name omitted] [last name omitted]

Nothing at all wrong with the message itself except for the lack of any information other than a first and last name. Here's my reply:

Thank you for your interest in our M-14S rifles. As we archive our files each year, I'll need the following from you in order to reserve your rifles:

- Your full name;
- Your complete postal address;
- Telephone number (just in case);
- Valid P.A.L. number and expiry date;
- Your credit card number and expiry date;

The price for the rifles will be $399.00 each plus applicable taxes. The reason we need your information again is our old files are boxed and locked away each year and, for security reasons, we do not keep credit card information in our computers. With your complete information we can reserve what you want and process your order the moment the rifles become available without having to play telephone or email tag :) We will not charge your card until the goods you ordered are ready to ship.

Thanking you in advance for your cooperation,

- Peter

There is something in it for you: if you can supply all your information to us at the time you place your order, your firearms will be reserved immediately and subsequently shipped sooner. We will not reject messages with incomplete information but cannot finalize them and reserve your firearms until we receive the rest.

Thank you kindly and please remember not to send me private messages about Marstar products or orders (the company can be reached via North America-wide toll-free number, by fax, email, and snail mail).

+1 I'm sure you'd be happier with the CZ or 1911 or Sig clones. The "Hi-Power" clone I tried (Snowdogs) was a mutt, an ugly gritty mutt.

Whoo-Hoo, just got off the phone. My name is on one and I can't wait. (hopefully my wife is in a real good mood the day the box arrives, but, well, you can't make everyone happy all the time.....):D
