i am it again trying to find the one ,the perfect rifle for me. ive gone through hundreds so far but no luck yet, sometimes right gun wrong caliber.i dont know i just want a gun that feels right.did anybody find the one rifle they would not part with.any pics and why,im a hunter mainly but i want one accurate too.i may just find the action i want and build a custom gun, for me i would have to have two stocks a wood in gorgeous walnut and synthetic when i go out in the chit weather we always have.i am getting pretty close though,i know basically what im looking for now.

The answer will differ with every person for me the one is actually the two same rifle two calibers 1955 Winchester Model 70 300 H+H and 1954 Winchester Model 70 270win. the rifles are identical physically accuracy is excellent with handloads the rifles are a little heavy but I don't mind .

Is this like a...blog entry? :D

Kidding aside, good luck in your search. :)

last trade i did was for a sako l57 in 243 just the wroge caliber i think if it was 308 it would be staying but i think thats the type of gun im looking at size and weight wise and whats a blog

A Sako Forrest in 308 win is certainly a nice rifle I have entertained the idea of owning one the action is smooth sized to the 308 case rifle is a nice weight accuracy would be fine Sako made a Silhouette version with a slightly heaver BBl contour it basically was a heaver version of a Vixen varmint model Very nice.

Once the search ends, the fun ends. I am pretty happy with what i have, but i am always looking to better it.

So true, looking for something new is usually more fun than actually having it. This is why we all end up with these massive collections, the thrill of the chase!

No one gun will ever do it all or be all things at all times.

No one should be forced to make do with less than at least 3 or 4 in any particular category. How many categories you need is up to you. :D
