The only blessing from Communism: K98 captured rifles.

They will never throw out Lenin or Stalin from Kremlin. The whole society is built on dead people's greatness. You can be greatest anybody alive, recognized by your peers abroad. Yet you will be no body in Russia itself until you die.
After your death, then you will become recognized as figure of importance in what ever your role was in society. So people will come to worship your greatness at the cemetery or Kremlin. They will build a monument or even yet, a church temple with golden roofs for people to pray in.
That's why symbolism from material things is important, like melting down guns of vanquished enemies or attributing great accomplishments to things that symbolize greatness of that victory.
That's why you have church on each battle site in Russia and parade for victory day each may 9th to remember the events and symbolism of those events.
Its weird for westerners to comprehend this, but Russian orthodox church is responsible for this mentality. Communists tried to eradicate it, but failed because they as well were continuing making dead people in to symbols of greatness, same as orthodox church does. In the end communism is gone, but orthodox church remains.

It was good for us that Soviet does not offer WW2 guns to Third World client States. Instead they preserved German and obsolete Soviet guns to have for local Partizan guerillas if Soviet Union will be overun by the West.

Lots of German captured arms were shipped by Soviets to China. They did some heavy fighting during civil war, heavy enough to be replaced by end of 1950s.Greek civil war was also fueled by Tito with German weapons.

Stalin's corpse was removed from the Kremlin mausoleum in 1961 and unceremoniously reburied outside the walls in an area reserved for minor officials - it was part of Khrushchev's de-Stalinization policies.
